Together, we’ll continue to create and deliver content that reflects the current and ever-changing face of the world.KNBC/KVEA is searching for a dynamic News Operations Manager to lead the strategic technical aspects of news gathering and live broadcasts, ensuring top-notch news delivery across all platforms. In this role, you'll collaborate with newscast editors, directors, and photographers to implement cutting-edge media technologies and workflows. Your key responsibilities include developing compelling newscasts and managing the news coverage schedule to maintain our high-quality standards.Job Responsibilities:+ The focus is on maintaining the functionality of news operations, especially during breaking news and continuous coverage. This includes live shots, fleet, equipment, and feeds, among other components.+ Ensure the smooth technical function of chopper operations, news production, and broadcast.+ Provide strategic, logistical planning, and insight to upcoming live events, special programs and/or elements to be included in news coverage.+ Establish and manage budgets, maintain records, and prepare operational reports.+ Stay updated with the latest technologies and incorporate them to improve our news operations.+ Ensure compliance with legal requirements, ethical standards, and company policies.+ Lead, develop, and coordinate electronic and digital news gathering operations: video gathering, editing, remote broadcasts, microwave, ENG trucks and news vehicle and system maintenance.+ Responsible for station Vehicle Fleet.+ Provide technical guidance, training, and leadership for editorial and news gathering personnel, including Photojournalist or others as assigned.+ Ensure necessary equipment is in place and in working order to support assigned employees.+ Mentor and develop news employees' technology skills, especially in digital and wireless tools.+ Available by phone 24x7 for breaking news and disaster recovery scenarios.+ Responsible for maintaining station disaster recovery procedures for News team.+ Contribute to the direction of the Duopoly News operations through regular and clear communications with News and Technology Department Heads, other Department Heads and employees.+ Attend monthly NBCU all stations news gathering and media operations meetings.+ Oversee the On-Air quality execution of newscasts.+ Oversee staffing and supervisory duties, including hiring, performance management, scheduling, and evaluation of Photojournalist and work group members in accordance with station policies.+ Capital budgeting and quarterly budget analysis.+ Must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.+ Must be willing to work in the field in all types of weather conditions, varying work schedules, and to travel as part of assigned duties.+ More than 5 years’ experience with Electronic News Gathering (ENG) technologies and Automatic Production Control (APC) systems.+ More than 5 years’ experience in photojournalism and news editing.+ Must have a driver’s license.Desired Qualifications:+ Written and oral fluency in English.
