Please do not reference your resume in your cover letterExamples of Duties Performed - Duties may include but are not limited to the following+ Builds trust with community and within City organization by communicating timely and clear information related to housing and homelessness.+ Provides strategy and oversight of all City internal and external communications related to City efforts on housing and homelessness. Provides updates to and advises City leadership, including the Public Space Team Incident Commander on communication strategies and actions.+ Develops and implements internal and external communications and community relations plans that address City and Council goals related to housing and homelessness. This includes independently responding to communications needs and anticipating them with proactive materials such as talking points, social media messaging, print materials, videos, and other information collateral, as needed, and working closing with the analyst for the Housing Implementation Pipeline (ugene-or.gov/4889/Housing-Implementation-Pipeline-HIP) – the City’s 5-year internal work plan on current and future resources, goals, and priorities with a systems-thinking approach to housing across the full spectrum from people experiencing homelessness to overall housing supply.+ Develops new and maintains existing City webpages and social media resources related to housing and homelessness. Works with the Homeless Services Team to provide the Public Space Team with current list of social service agencies and resources.+ Monitors current events, media stories, and new policies related to homelessness.+ Develops and maintains relationships with local media.+ Responsible for formulating and ensuring all media requests related to housing and homelessness align with City messaging, goals, and values. Monitors and responds to email and phone messages from community members as appropriate or refers to appropriate staff for timely response.+ Develops, manages, and evaluates print and broadcast media information; prepares and disseminates complex and sensitive news releases; oversees preparation of general news releases and day-to-day media relations activities.+ Develops data visualizations, presentations, and other materials that help stakeholders understand program activities, successes, and identify areas for improvement.+ Establishes, manages, and oversees vendor contracts to produce digital, graphic, and collateral materials including video and photography, ensuring deadlines are achieved.+ Leads City efforts to develop and present a communications initiative to describe the City’s role in supporting the local homeless services system and to request ongoing funding from the State.+ Manages and evaluates legislative communications related to housing and homelessness in coordination with City policy experts, the City’s Intergovernmental Relations Manager, and City leadership.
