An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.**Job Summary:**As part of the institutional Office of Strategic Communications and Branding, the Senior User Interface and Design Strategist designs web and mobile application interfaces that adhere to the quality and brand standards of the organization. In addition, this role is responsible for user interface and user experience testing and quality control of mobile and web applications for the entire organization, and the creation of special web-based and print projects for the Health System and Academic Enterprise. This role will also collaborate closely with the branding, design and identity team to create collateral that aligns with the overall design strategy and identity of the organization.**Job Duties:**+ Leads the User Interface design process for various mobile application projects—ensuring a stronguser-centered approach—while maintaining design systems, patterns, and guidelines that alignwith UTMB’s branding and identity standards.+ Works closely with the branding and identity team to ensure all designs comply with theorganization’s overall design strategy, and collaborates with cross-functional teams includingdevelopers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive and impactful designsolutions.+ Conducts thorough research to understand complex clinical, research, academic, and innovation-focused subjects and translates them into clear, engaging mobile applications and webenvironments suitable for different audiences.+ Manages multiple mobile applications and special design projects simultaneously, ensuring timelyand high-quality deliverables, and communicates design concepts and solutions effectively tostakeholders and team members.+ Oversees user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve userexperiences. Analyzes user feedback and data to continuously refine and optimize UI designs.+ Assists in the creation of visually dynamic digital and print collateral, including logos, websitegraphics, social media graphics, fliers, banners, advertisements, and other marketing or eventoutreach materials.+ Works in conjunction with the Associate Vice President, Marketing & Media Communications, theDirector of Branding and Design, the Senior Media Communications Strategist, and the Senior Executive Communications Strategist to collaborate regularly with stakeholders to ensureintegration of UTMB’s design and branding initiatives are consistent.+ Works with key stakeholders, including department heads and administrative leaders, tounderstand their design needs and provide strategic advice and support for their mobileapplication development efforts.+ Handles sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality, and serves oninstitutional committees, as appropriate.+ Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of mobile applications and special project web designs,using metrics and feedback to continuously improve these efforts and ensure they meet the needsof the medical center’s marketing and communications initiatives.+ Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.+ Performs related duties as required.**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**+ Outstanding mobile application design and web design skills.+ Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.+ Strong understanding of branding, design systems, and user-centered design principles.+ Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment**Salary Range:**Actual salary commensurate with experience.**Equal Employment Opportunity**UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
