You can contribute your unique experiences and background to build a community that fosters mutual respect and meaningful relationships. * REPORTS TO:* Grain Accounting Manager *STATUS:* Non-Exempt * _PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT_* Under the direction of the Grain Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for performing clerical and accounting duties according to accepted accounting standards. * _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Interacting with staff and vendors regarding missing documentation, approvals, pricing, or other discrepancies. * Maintains efficient, up-to-date manual, automated filing systems and completes general office procedures. * Ensures invoices coming due are communicated with the appropriate team member for approval of product and expense invoices. * Make sure the timely processing of invoices and credits to maximize available discounts and minimize additional service charges. * Enters new vendors into the system and updates information in the master files as needed. * Verifies and corrects vendor data, payments, invoices, credits, and discount terms, including verifying invoices to reflect the appropriate sales tax amount before entering data into the computer. * Responsible for issuing prompt and correct payments electronically. * Completes supplier reconciliations monthly and resolves vendor issues. * _OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_* * Must maintain a high level of customer service. * Most of the time is spent inside an office environment. * May be required to cross-train and fill in for other office positions such as Grain Accounting Assistants. * Working knowledge of the accepted accounting procedures. * May possibly be required to pick up/drop off local products or materials by request. * Perform related duties as assigned. * _REQUIREMENTS_* * Education and Experience* Normally requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. * Functional Competencies* * Responsible for adhering to the company Employee Policy Manual. * Adhere to company policy regarding expenses, Paid Time Off (PTO), and vehicle usage reporting. * Assist in creating a positive work environment with encouraging and respectful interactions that promote a consistent message of leadership, profitability, and competitiveness. * Maintain good communication skills with customers and fellow employees. * Exhibit a professional image and maintain a positive and respectful attitude. * Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. * Ability to work extended hours, on-call as business conditions warrant, weekends, seasonal hours, holidays, and overtime if needed. * Core Competencies* Demonstrate core competencies, including collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development. * Other Requirements* * Exhibit regular and prompt attendance, including but not limited to all required meetings and training programs. * Maintains a safe working environment and promotes safety amongst customers and employees. * Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes. * _WORK ENVIRONMENT_* Exposed to grain dust and noise from grain probes, truck traffic, and elevator operation. * Physical Demands* * Physical Abilities Lift/Carry* Stand Frequently 10 lbs. or less Occasionally Walk Frequently 11-20 lbs.
