This role will oversee daily medication prior authorization operations, ensure execution of established processes, and perform all leadership responsibilities required to lead a team of Medication Prior Authorization Specialists.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Leads all aspects of the employee life cycle for Medication Prior Authorization Specialists (ie, hiring, onboarding, performance management/coaching, etc.) and establishing a positive team-based work environment through team building and recognition.+ Maintains productivity and monitors Medication Prior Authorization Specialists’ activity and performance to meet quality standards and adherence to workflows.+ Collaborates with Manager, Medication Management to effectively plan, optimize staffing, flex daily staffing, and monitor volume to maintain service levels.+ Serves as an escalation point for the Medication Prior Authorization Specialists and partners with other Supervisors, Rx Refill to achieve final resolution.+ Partners cross functionally with Trainers, Quality Assurance and Manager, Medication Management to optimize Medication Prior Authorization Specialists training and QA programs.+ Engages practice clinical care team when pre-authorization attempt is unsuccessful and/or a peer-to-peer and/or alternative medication is required.+ Ensures Medication Prior Authorization Specialists are properly equipped with necessary technology, resources, and tools required to acquire necessary prior authorizations.+ Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and partners with appropriate stakeholders to optimize service levels, workflows, patient experience, and patient safety.+ Other related duties as assigned.PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Consistent use of hands and fingers for typing, telephones, data entry, etc. Occasional twisting and turning. Uses upper extremities to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Stoops, bends, and reaches above shoulder level to retrieve files. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screen.EDUCATION:High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Required: Minimum 2+ years recent year practice-based experience or in a similar healthcare setting.Preferred: Customer service experience.
