**Description****SAIC** is seeking a **Senior Technical Writer** to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. The position is located at the USAF customer site in Hampton, VA, and reports to the Engineering and Sustainment Team Integrated Product Lead (IPT). This position will support activities at Air Operations Centers (AOCs) located at various CONUS and OCONUS Air Force locations. The selected individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the developing and deploying AOC tools, configuration management, and training of Command and Control (C2) systems.This is a hybrid remote position (subject to change) with no travel required.This position requires a demonstrated/thorough understanding and application of technical writing, and configuration management principals and processes. The successful candidate must be effective at face-to-face interaction with customers (military, government civil service, and contractors) to respond to requests for information and support for technical meetings, technical interchanges, and enterprise working groups. The candidate must be able to work independently and represent the program and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors.**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**+ Collecting, analyzing, and organizing information required for preparation of technical/programmatic documents, guides, demo briefs, and reports.+ Collaborate, remotely and onsite, with AOC internal and external stakeholders to assist in the development, preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents. Example documentation includes Solution Architecture and CONOPs, Technical Designs, Detailed Configurations, Solution Components, Operations Guides, Functional Test Plans, Implementation Plans, Data Architecture, and Test Procedures and Reports. (Prior to finalizing the developmental documentation, the Tech Writer must solicit feedback to include stakeholder review and input adjudication.+ Make editorial recommendations related to style, format, clarity, organization, analytic integrity, tone, and effective argumentation from project initiation to publication/distribution.+ Prepare and provide input to the visual communication of complex concepts and the layouts of documents and other materials.+ Ensure document adherence to classification marking rules/regulations.+ Maintain documents and writing/editing resources on collaborative content management systems.+ Manage document configuration and versions.+ Establish template and writing standards for new product initiatives.+ Proficient in all styles of editing: Copy-editing, substantive/structural editing, developmental/project editing, stylistic editing, and proofreading.+ Support Leadership by drafting and compiling daily, weekly, and project specific activity reports, coordinate meetings and schedules, and perform other ad hoc duties.**Qualifications****Required Skills, Abilities and Competencies:**+ 6+ years technical writing experience on an interdisciplinary engineering team.+ Excellent writing skills and strong command of the English language.+ Ability to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgrounds.+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.+ Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.+ Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.)+ Experience with Adobe/Adobe Pro.+ Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret, or higher-level clearance, as required by the customer (i.e. Secret).**Preferred Skills & Experience:**+ Knowledge of the administration, integration, and configuration of AOC Weapons Systems, to include internal and external subsystems.+ Technical Writing experience relative to information technology, engineering, and/or business systems environments.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
