**Job Description Summary**Consulting Services at GE Vernova has offices in multiple countries and offers our global clients (external & internal GE) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization. Our Power Economics and Software team offers analyses focused on the understanding and the study of the financial and physical operation of the electric power systems including generation and grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation, competitive power markets and energy policy implications. Entities worldwide use our suite of software tools to assess the economics, performance, and reliability of interconnected power systems.The Power Economics and Software team in Consulting Services is looking for an experienced, organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Software Documentation Writer. The Software Documentation Writer will produce high-quality documentation which contributes to the overall success of Consulting Services software platform.**Job Description****Roles and Responsibilities**+ Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.+ Produce high-quality comprehensive documentation that is appropriate for its intended audiences.+ Write and maintain easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides to ensure customer success.+ Create tutorials to help end-users with a variety of applications.+ Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.+ Create and maintain the information architecture and content management system.+ Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.**Required Qualifications:**+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, computer science, information technology, information management, or related field from an accredited university or college.+ Two or more years of experience in technical writing of software documentation.**Desired Characteristics:**+ Superb written communication skills.+ Experience writing documentation for applications involving complex mathematical calculations.+ Experience with software project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.) and concepts (Agile, KanBan, Lean, etc.)+ Basic knowledge of energy markets such as: energy price trends (electricity and major fuels); Energy and associated ancillary services market rules and practices; Generation Capacity Markets; Current U.S. energy regulations; Transmission system limitations and operating practices.+ Experience with: Power system analysis, design and operation, or generation and transmission planning/pricing.+ Proficiency with power system analysis tools, e.g., PSLF, MAPS, MARS, and other competing software.+ Familiarity with software development life cycle+ Familiarity with Software Content management.**_If contracted in the U.S. the following apply:_****_The salary range_** **_for this position is_** **_72,200.00 - 112,800 USD Annually._** **_The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
