Pay Range: $45 - $50/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:Lead design on a variety of projects pertaining to governmental, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and other clients ranging from facility modifications to new facilities.Quality review PFDs and P&IDs from verbal or written description from the design engineer.Quality review basic formulas, principles and practices, and use acquired knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices pertaining to the mechanical discipline.Lead drawing, planning, development, and production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.Evaluate designs or sketches and redlines or mark-Client on ongoing projects for quality assurance.Approve reports, drawings, and tests to plan and lead design projects to meet deliverables.Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements.Lead production of design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines.Compute calculations for layouts, equipment, and schematics under the direction of the engineer.Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into mechanical design and layouts for project financial goals.Responsible for the quality review of all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.Train, mentor, and develop less experienced drafting, detailing and design staff members.Participate in marketing and client development meetings.Responsible for the mechanical design QA/QC process.Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field and thirteen years related experience or associate's degree and fourteen years related experience or fifteen years progressive detailing and design experience.Expert understanding of design software such as: Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and MicroStation to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.Expert understanding of planning, managing, organizing, setup, documenting, and delivering complex BIM models and related digital products across diverse project teams.Experience with training team members, establishing BIM standards, and implementing BIM best practices.Expert ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.Expert knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.Expert knowledge in the theory and practices of assigned discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.Work collaboratively with others including, but not limited to clients, Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.Excellent written & verbal communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.Our client is a leading
