Position Highlights

The Udall Center at the University of Arizona has a new opportunity for an extended temporary employment Indigelab Content Developer. The IndigeLab Content Developer (Content Developer I) will be responsible for creating and maintaining web, social media, and other related content for the IndigeLabs Network, CLEAR, and the Collaboratory for Indigenous Data Governance. The incumbent will oversee in-bound and outbound digital communications, and the development, production, and dissemination of marketing and communications collateral to internal and external constituents. Manages communication efforts and interactions with various network members, communities, and media. Provides students and members of the campus community access to various forms of communication. Writes, evaluates, reviews, and edits internal and external communications. Develops and executes editorial projects for a wide range of institution publications.

Founded in 1987, the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy is a collective of researchers, educators and outreach professionals at the University of Arizona that explores how different levels of governance - from neighborhoods to nations - influence behavior through laws, regulations, agreements, investments and more.

Our work is a continuation of the Udall family's public-policy legacy. We conduct research on policy related to water, land and environmental concerns through our Environmental Policy Program and work to strengthen the capacities of Indigenous Peoples for nation building and self-determination via the Native Nations Institute.

The Udall Center is funded by private and government grants and contracts, by the federal Udall Foundation and by the University of Arizona. Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & responsibilitiesUnder the direction of IndigeLab leaders, and in collaboration with staff and members:

Writes a variety of in-house and outside publications, including but not limited to articles, brochures, press releases,profiles, backgrounders, web pages and social media posts.Writes analytic, interpretive, or highly individualized features utilizing personal subject matter expertise.Independently researches, selects subject, interviews, ensures accuracy of facts, and determines content and layout.Edits and coordinates production of a variety of types of printed and digital material.Manages the development and distribution of content for social media.

Present IndigeLab activities on webinars and at professional conferences, develop content under direction of leaders and staff, create Powerpoint based on drafts from others and meeting conversations, refine based on input from leaders and staff, proofread, and cosmetic clean up.Develop a personal professional development plan and meet regularly with mentors.Participate in weekly meetings with Collaboratory for Indigenous Data Governance.Participate in monthly IndigeLab leadership and working group calls.Participate in project calls as needed.Additional duties may be assigned.Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Knowledge and understanding of communications and writing.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, prioritize, adapt to rapidly shifting priorities, and manage communications projects from start to publication.Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills for interactions with other researchers and the public.Understanding of Native American histories, cultures, and Indigenous data sovereigntyMinimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required as well as 1 year of relevant work experience is required.Preferred Qualifications

Experience in communications and marketing.
