Cary, NCWho we are:In short – an essential part of Deutsche Bank’s technology solution, developing applications for key business areas.OverviewCorporate Banking (CB) is a technology centric business, with an increasing move to real-time processing, an increasing appetite from customers for integrated systems and access to supporting data and part of the Corporate Bank Cash technology organization.In this role, you will be a hands-on lead senior engineer for the Cash Data Controls platform which is being delivered for the global Corporate Bank Cash businesses. The platform provides a front-back solution to evidence and manage complete and accurate data for the Cash businesses, which is a critical part of our regulatory compliance framework. The platform provides multiple technical challenges, including high processing performance and scalability requirements, complex business logic, management of high volumes of data and presentation / workflow / MI.You will join the team in Cary where you will be responsible for creating the designs of new strategic technology solutions that are consistent with our target architecture, and for delivery & implementation of software across all phases of the development lifecycle.What You’ll DoBe part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications, leveraging best practices.

Make decisions on design and implementation based on data-driven evidence and manage the software development life cycle (SDLC) of software components all the way to production, including helping support the application to resolve production issues with appropriate triaging.

Deliver state of the art solutions as a hands-on technologist, implement leading technology advancements in the industry, and maintain hygiene, risk, control, and stability at the core of every delivery.

Partner with UX/UI Design team, Architects, Business Analysts, Stakeholders across multiple regions and time-zones; at varying capacity to understand requirements.

Collaborate with engineers to participate, contribute, and lead design discussions and write specifications; be a hands-on lead engineer consistently reviewing architecture, designs, quality, and drive re-use and best practice.

Design, develop and document microservice-based & Cloud-native application components in accordance with requirements specification, while co-working with Quality Assurance (QA) team on test automation of new and existing functionality.

How You’ll LeadYou will lead the delivery of components & features in an Agile squad, actively engaging in design sessions with the global development team, while also partnering with the other engineers on code reviews and pair programming sessions.

As a Java Engineer, you will also partner with the wider TMDC delivery team, architects and engineers in other squads to optimize the solution delivery and integrate with appropriate control frameworks.

Mentoring/coaching junior engineers.

Skills You’ll NeedBachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in the field of computer science and/or technology.

Experience with Agile software development frameworks and processes, technical architecture, and software design, Java based Monolithic/Microservices, a range of data storage technologies (e.g. Postgres, MongoDB, Google BigQuery), designing and implementing distributed enterprise applications, with the design and implementation of application programming interface, designing and implementing automated testing approaches including unit and system level tests, implementing applications onto Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), with Unix Shell scripting, working with continuous integration/continuous deployment or development tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Github Actions) and delivering full deployment lifecycle automation.

Knowledge in container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and must have advanced skills & experience working with high volumes of data & comfortable making design decisions keeping performance in mind.

Familiarity writing Structured Query Language, optimizing, and simplifying existing queries.

Hands-on experience in messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka, MQ, JMS) and with “big data” technologies (e.g. Apache Spark, Google Dataproc, Google BigQuery).

Skills That Will Help You ExcelExperience of delivering application components using Kotlin, with our core Google Cloud Platform platform components including GKE, Dataproc, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, defining infrastructure components using Terraform, implementing automated testing-in-production solutions, and SDLC processes that provide multiple production releases of software per day.

Security experience with OAuth2.

Self-starter and a go getter.
