What you'll be doing...

The Director will lead all Verizon Consumer paid and organic search from a strategic planning, investment, and partner management perspective. This leader will manage, grow and lead both the SEO and SEM functions. The Director should bring a fresh perspective on how the tech stack should evolve and will drive the decision-making process on any changes/shifts necessary. This leader will build relationships with external search partners; and will scale and manage a team that is split across paid and organic search duties. They will bring a strong understanding of the evolution of search and the benefits of thinking about SEO and SEM holistically. With their sophisticated knowledge of and insight into the search landscape, s/he will architect the future of Search at Verizon.

This role also works closely with other internal teams (Demand activation, social, search, integrated marketing, marketing effectiveness, consumer & marketplace insights, creative, privacy, Verizon Ventures and external platforms including key partners (i.e. FB, Adobe, Google, Epsilon, etc).

This leader must possess a strong point of view, hands-on experience & wisdom to effectively persuade others within the organization to adopt the optimal Adtech/Martech stack that meets Verizon's advertising and marketing needs. You will lead complex negotiations in a large matrixed organization (AI&D, IT, Creative, Platforms) to deliver optimal outcomes.

In a rapidly evolving marketing landscape, you will partner with industry leaders to develop Verizon's internal media-related solution(s) to a cookieless future. You will also structure, build and lead a team of specialists to execute best-in-class data, supply and technology operations across the established programmatic, paid social and search in-house team.

You will be responsible for...Leading and managing Verizon's SEO and SEM functions within the Verizon Consumer organizationLeading a team of SEO and SEM subject matter expertsDeveloping and maintaining relationships across the Verizon consumer organization, serving as the primary point of contact for all paid search campaign-related inquiriesGuiding the team to monitor and analyze paid search campaign performance data to identify areas of opportunity for optimizationCoaching and mentoring team members to improve their skills, knowledge, and performance, and promote a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration within the teamStaying up-to-date on industry trends and best practicesStaying up-to-date on changes in search engine algorithms, ad platforms, and digital marketing best practices to ensure our websites are optimized for maximum visibility and performanceDeveloping and executing SEO strategies and tactics to drive organic search performanceManaging and mentoring a team of SEO professionals to ensure they are delivering high-quality work that meets business goals and objectivesAnalyzing and reporting on website traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics to measure the success of SEO effortsCollaborating with cross-functional teams including content, social media, and paid search to ensure SEO is integrated into all digital marketing initiativesManaging relationships with vendors to ensure we are getting the most out of our SEO investmentsAdditionally, you will manage a team responsible for:Researching and recommending new adtech/martechTraining and leading members of the CMO org on leveraging marketing technology productsRepresenting business interests while partnering with other departments (IT, Platforms, Creative) to integrate marketing technology productsMonitoring data quality within marketing technology productsManaging Data & Technology budgetLeading RFP/ negotiating business terms for purchasing marketing technology productsManaging Verizon's industry leading Privacy & Brand Safety initiativesWhat we're looking for...Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.8+ years of marketer / agency / consultative services experience in SEM & SEO.Proven track record of growing and leading a technically advanced team of media professionals.Able to manage both SEO and SEM authoritatively; deep understanding of how SEM interacts with SEO.Demonstrable excellence in search analysis and reporting. Data visualization experience a plus.Fluent in data-driven targeting and reach strategy.Passion for digital communications, new technologies and constantly evolving our approach.Exceptional communication skills.Ability to manage large projects across multiple stakeholders.Able to operate and influence across divisions, departments and teams.Mastery of primary buying platforms & formats (SA360, GA4, Skai, Yahoo! / Bing, PLAs, Shopping engines).Mastery of Technical, Onsite and Offsite SEO.Ability to maintain accurate financial records.Experience building forward-thinking business strategy; structuring and building an offering to support the execution of the strategy.Ability to analyze data, monitor campaigns for improvements, ensure campaign goals are being fully met.Even better if you have:10 or more years of relevant work experience.Comprehensive hands on experience of advertising channels across TV, audio, OOH, Display (desktop, mobile), Digital Video, Social Media, Search, various buying methodologies (CPM, CPC, CPA), etc.Advanced knowledge of primary buying platforms & formats (Google, Amazon AAP, Yahoo DSP, Facebook/Instagram, Snap, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest).Experience with leading data-driven media technology (Liveramp, Adobe AAM, Epsilon, Acxiom).Proficiency of Ad verification and brand safety tools (IAS, DoubleVerify, Moat).Demonstrable change management expertise to identify processes required to adopt disruptive technology and new ways of working.Experience with managing teams of at least 30+ employees and maintaining high team morale through periods of change.Examples of leading organizations through tech adoption, based on thorough awareness of the current and emerging marketing technology landscape along with assessment of Verizon's current stack.Where you'll be working

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $193,000.00 and $358,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
