Under the direction of Artistic Director Stphane Denve, its unique fellowship program trains music school graduates for leadership roles in the field of classical music. Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of the NWS Production staff, assist in high-quality execution of production logistics (specializing in audio) for events, performances, and other activities at the New World Center (NWC) for both NWS and its external partners and rental clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

75%: Performance and Event LogisticsAs directed by the Technical Director, work closely with other production staff in timely execution of production logistics and operations including load-in, setup, operation, changeover, tear-down, and load-out of stage equipment (including staging, lighting, audio, and video systems) for rehearsals, events, and performances for both NWS and external/rental clients and partners held at NWC, as well as for NWS events and productions elsewhere in the Miami areaAs directed by the Technical Director and in conjunction with the Director of Audio Services, serve as house sound engineer and/or park sound engineer for selected NWS productions, ensuring that stage and audience areas are properly reinforced by sound amplificationOperate truck(s) as needed to transport equipment both locally and on tour20%: Equipment and Facility Maintenance

As directed by the Technical Director and in conjunction with the Director of Audio Services, assist in the daily programming and software upkeep of the QSC and ClearCom audio systems within NWCAs directed by the Technical Director and in conjunction with the Director of Audio Services, assist in the daily maintenance of all audio instruments and equipment within NWC5%: Administrative/Other Duties

Participate in weekly departmental and other production meetingsAssist in other departmental projects and support other team members as necessaryPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in show production or another related field; minimum of one to three years of relevant experience at an event production company, music school, orchestra, touring company or other performing arts organization; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skill with latest-technology audio equipment (DigiDesign mixing console, Yamaha DM2000V2 mixing console) and sound reinforcementKnowledge of lighting equipment (GrandMA2 and ETC Ion lighting consoles, Varilite VL-1000TS moving lights) and video projection systems (Christie Roadie HD30K), mechanical staging, rigging and screen systemsGeneral knowledge of performance and event conventions and vocabularyBasic knowledge of musical performance conventions and forms; basic music/score reading and familiarity with classical music preferredDemonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suiteDemonstrated experience in collaborative teamworkDemonstrated skill in applied problem-solvingDemonstrated ability to interact effectively with coworkers of a diverse group of backgrounds and personalitiesDemonstrated ability to accurately express and exchange information in time-sensitive performance situationsDemonstrated ability to assess and determine accurate information for setup of equipment and instruments from diagrams and/or drawingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekendsAbility to consistently move, transport, position, and remove items such as chairs, risers, boxes, tables, instruments, audio equipment, lighting instruments, cabling, and other items that may be bulky or heavy (up to 50 pounds); in a stationary position for less than 20% of time when actively performing essential job functionsRegularly ascends and descends stairs and stepladdersOccasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions in South Florida during event setups and operations
