Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is
looking for a savvy, strategic Communications manager
to shape and deliver compelling communications to support our Microelectronics Center and Emerging Capabilities portfolio. Join our team of dedicated professionals and define possible with Northrop Grumman. Your communications expertise will play a critical role in continuing to position the company as a technology innovator.
This position will be based in Linthicum, MD.
Travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities will be required periodically.

You’ll make a difference by:
Leading a priority portfolio designed to elevate company thought leadership on important next generation technologies and emerging markets
Overseeing the development and execution of an omni-channel, integrated business communications plans to achieve business and communication goals
Partnering with functional colleagues to develop and edit internal and external communications, including announcements, webcasts, videos, speeches, presentations, media engagements and more
Leading, preparing and positioning subject matter experts for strategic communications opportunities across internal and external channels
Partnering with communications colleagues to develop a holistic and integrated communication strategy to achieve business and communication goals
Preparing and sharing metrics on communications efforts and leveraging those results to evolve strategies and approaches to achieve business objectives

Are experienced in developing and executing strategic communications plans to achieve business objectives and advance thought leadership
Effectively manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines
Can confidently and independently interact with executive leaders, and all levels of employees

Are a strategic thinker, strong problem solver who is wildly creative and collaborative and pays attention to every detail

Are adept at identifying and telling stories, and a strong editor
Basic qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing and deploying strategic communications campaigns and measuring business impact
Experience building teams and leading people, formally or informally
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 9 years of communications, public relations, marketing or journalism experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 7 years of communications, public relations, marketing or journalism experience.
Ability to travel up to 10% in support of the business, as needed
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization
Experience developing productive relationships with executives
Experience in technology, aerospace, defense or other science-related business or government fields
Demonstrated judgement in decision making and leadership actions with capabilities to drive change through creative and/or other disruptive methods, ideas & approaches
Experience with measurement tools and analyzing data
Salary Range:
$119,800 - $179,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
