CCCS provides generous leave, excellent benefits (oogle.com/file/d/1COuMZUvUnWuK9uoXKd1EOyFLhlJzG0G-/view) , and flexible work schedules, including hybrid-remote work within the state of Colorado.Duties Include:In this role you will develop and maintain the CCCS Central Library’s information literacy and student success program, designed to serve its diverse student population and support the CCCS student learning and success goals. You will act as the point person for faculty, instructors, and students for online information literacy sessions, develop tutorials and videos, manage the Central Library’s chat service, conduct outreach, and provide support to the Rural College Consortium’s libraries and constituents. This position co-chairs the CCCS Student Services and Information Literacy committee and collaborates with campus librarians, learning designers, the academic course design teams, and Academic Technology to embed and incorporate library and information literacy resources into course shells.+ Develop, implement, and assess the CCCS Central Library’s information literacy program.+ Working with faculty, develop and teach information literacy classes online to meet the intricacies of the assignment and to achieve student proficiency in information literacy.+ Develop and deliver student-facing information, including digital and visual literacies workshops.+ Create, maintain, and promote information literacy materials on the CCCS Central Library’s website via subject specific Research Guides using the LibGuides platform.+ Explore, recommend, and use academic and library technologies to create and provide library learning objects to support information literacy goals.+ Provide professional library reference services via phone, email, virtual consultations, and chat to a variety of patrons from a diverse community that includes students, faculty, staff, and community members online from Colorado Online and across CCCS.+ Provide embedded librarian services as requested, including monitoring discussion boards and engaging with students in a timely and effective manner, and research assistance.Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights+ Master of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Science from an accredited college or university.+ Two years of experience providing or planning library support to online learners.+ Experience with planning and facilitating professional development, workshops, community events, and/or library instruction sessions.Supplemental InformationAttributes that will contribute to success in this position:+ Understanding of community college, consortium, or higher education environment and experience working successfully with faculty/subject matter experts.+ Knowledge of open education pedagogy.+ Knowledgeable about online and blended learning practices.+ Ability to work with diverse populations with sensitivity and respect.+ Strong understanding of ACRL’s Standards, Guidelines, and Frameworks, including Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, Standards for Distance and Online Learning Library Services, Standards for Libraries in Higher Education, and Standards for Academic Librarians Without Faculty Status.+ Familiarity with processes relevant to the development of information literacy curricula and instructional materials for credit and non-credit courses (digital badges, microlearning, learning objects, job aids, etc.).+ Knowledge of and the ability to apply universal design for learning, and accessibility standards for information literacy and library learning tools, as well as familiarity with assistive technologies used with library resources and services.+ Familiarity with Open Educational Resources (OER), Creative Commons, pressbooks, and copyright laws and how they pertain to course materials.+ Ability to learn and deploy innovative technologies associated with online library services.+ Knowledge of and eagerness to learn innovative technologies and their applications to instruction and reference services.+ Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.Work Location/Travel Expectations:+ The office location for this position is 9026 E. Severn Place Denver, CO 80230.+ This position requires minimal travel.+ Alternative work arrangements, including flexible schedules and remote work may be available.
