**Job Description**The Public Relations & Communication Sr. Specialist will represent the Public Relations team in all PR-related activities. This role is responsible for creating/writing press materials and other written copy, responding quickly and professionally to media inquiries regarding CCL and will distribute press releases and keep Carnival's online newsroom updated organizing and coordinating all aspects of media events, managing media lists and tracking news coverage of Carnival by creating and distributing reports to internal stakeholders.**Essential Functions:**+ Responsible for creating the copywriting of CCL external communications, including press releases, executive speeches/talking points, tailored pitch letters, personality profiles, articles for key executives and travel agent partners.+ Manages media familiarization and laisses with press and internal stakeholders to provide experiences and other amenities for journalists sailing. Organizes and develops all aspects of planning group press sailings including the coordination and tracking of journalist’s sailings.+ Write articles for various internal communication outlets. Screens and responds to day-to-day inquiries from consumers, the trade, (such as travel partners and agencies), and lifestyle media.+ Updates Carnival’s online newsroom and helps distribute news releases to all channels, both internal and external. Fulfills photo requests and assists in handling day to day and on-going media relations and inquires.+ Track coverage of CCL by gathering clips and creating/distributing a daily report for internal stakeholders. Generate additional CCL coverage through tailored story pitches that highlight CCL personnel, onboard features, amenities and attractions, as well as evaluate, facilitate and staff interviews with CCL executives.+ Responsible member of the PR team, available as needed during crises and other incidents to react and responds to inquiries. Provide organization and coordination of media partners at specified events that CCL is represented.+ Assisting other team members with additional duties and special projects.+ Must be available to manage press inquiries on holidays and weekends as part of an on-call rotation.**Qualifications:**+ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations required.+ Work Experience: 5+ Professional Public Relations agency experience as well as company communications or journalism experience required**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**+ Responds with a high degree of professionalism, with tailored responses that demonstrate a keen understanding of all the Carnival products, features, and itineraries+ Team player with ability to communicate and partner across many departments within CCL with all levels including executives.+ Comfortable managing shifting priorities; Strong skills in communicating in both public relations and online media, i.e. blogs, social networks, etc+ Energetic self-starter, highly motivated and creative+ Excellent writing skills, detail oriented, organized.+ Must be self-motivated and takes initiative to complete work and prioritize duties.+ Excellent writing skills, with the ability to work well under pressure with high level of productivity.Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Travel: Less than 25% with shore based and ship based travel likely.Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.Work Location: This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.The range for this role’s salary $60,600-$88.9000.
