Description:We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team to create, maintain, and enhance process documentation for our technical controls program. This person needs to be able to work well independently. They must be excellent communicators, both receiving (taking feedback from SMEs and converting that to coherent documents) and delivering (providing clear and concise guidance). This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences through clear and effective documentation.The ideal candidate should be able to decipher technical IT/Cybersecurity jargon, design specifications, and data flows to facilitate efficient collaboration with engineers and administrators. They should have a proven track record of creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation for complex IT processes and procedures.• Key Responsibilitieso Updating existing processes and producing new processes and procedures.o Collaborating with various SMEs within cybersecurity, sysops, netops, and other related areas.o Handling around 60 documents, including rewrites and new information additions.Responsibilities:Develop, write, and maintain comprehensive IT process and procedure documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information, understand complex technical concepts, and translate them into user-friendly content.Research, analyze, and interpret technical information to produce user-friendly documentation.Maintain a centralized repository of IT documentation, ensuring easy accessibility and searchability.Follow organizational documentation standards, templates, and style guides to maintain consistency.Conduct reviews of existing documentation to identify areas for improvement and update content as needed.Utilize authoring tools and content management systems to efficiently create and manage documentation.Successfully working under tight deadlines while applying high standards of writing and grammar rules as well as technical writing and configuration management principles to all documents generated.Skills:+ l technical writer with experience in writing procedures, procedural manuals, and processes.+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple documents/projects simultaneously.+ Experience with cybersecurity compliance, understanding process flows, flow diagrams, and activity tables., Jira, Confluence, Knowledge of specific industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, HIPAA).Additional Skills & Qualifications:Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the technology sector, with a strong understanding of technical concepts, software development, and engineering processes.Proven ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear and concise language.Ability to manage documentation tasks for multiple products simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Experience with industry-standard documentation formats and standards.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities.Experience with controls frameworks or other IT management methodologies.Knowledge of specific industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST CSF, HIPAA, GDPR).Experience with technical writing for a regulated industry.Experience generating technical documentation (including text and graphics) with Microsoft Office suite, Visio, and Adobe.Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus.About TEKsystems:We're partners in transformation.
