This key position also ensures each MMJ is utilizing the latest recording techniques and equipment when capturing video to encourage the highest standard of multimedia reporting. The Senior MMJ may also host Sanford Health News programs, including podcasts, and produce broadcast quality programming that is shared via the website, social media and internal channels. This team member must also have excellent editing skills and the ability to manage publishing duties for the Sanford Health News website. The Senior Multi-Media Journalist reports to the News Manager and works as a strategic member of the Sanford Health News team in the marketing department. This team member exhibits extensive journalistic experience through Sanford Health stories in written, video and podcast formats. The Senior MMJ will conduct regular video and equipment checks with teammates to maintain a high level of video quality in reports. The senior MMJ routinely verifies the team is gathering and filing media releases properly as well as filing all videos in accordance with Sanford Health standards.The Senior MMJ has a proven track record of quality reporting and leading complex multimedia projects. This role can manage multimedia content strategy and execution.Meets with the News Manager, writers, reporters, photographers, videographers and other stakeholders to identify story ideas. Creates original news stories; gathers information for news stories using subject matter experts, contacts and leads (which includes staff and patients).Actively participates in weekly news huddles. Builds contacts and sources within the assigned areas of responsibilities. Develops, writes and produces stories within assigned deadlines. Delivers news reports demonstrating energy, confidence, professional appearance and voice equality.Writes, shoots and edits own news stories for an assigned news series. Combines video, audio and graphics to tell the story effectively. Works with a photographer or videographer on occasion. Works with assignment editor for prioritization and scheduling of all stories. Serves as editor and publisher when needed for Sanford Health News and its website.Manages general upkeep of assigned company equipment. Promotes stories aggressively via social media accounts. Complies with other job related responsibilities as assigned.**Qualifications**A four-year degree in journalism, or related field required.Proven work experience with a minimum of six years full-time experience as a news reporter/anchor or program host. Comfortable and professional presence on camera. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of how to use digital and mobile platforms to deliver news in a fast-paced environment. Able to work under stressful conditions and deadlines.
