Collaborate closely with our Sr. Director, Publishing, and the Renew team to strategically engineer title plans that ensure Renew continually produces compelling, life-impacting books.The Renew Editor plays a crucial role in our creative development and ideation process. Join us in our quest for excellence in Christian publishing.**This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashville office.****Responsibilities****Editorial Contribution**+ Revitalize up to 12 titles annually, working with agents, authors, and internal publishing imprints.+ Perform comprehensive edits on manuscripts.+ Compose content when required, preserving the author’s voice.+ Select and manage freelancers when necessary, and process associated agreements.+ Assist with the catalog copy process and back-ad process, including reviewing, proofing, editing, and routing.+ Ensure projects are delivered on schedule.+ Manage editorial expense budgets.+ Actively participate in regular editorial meetings.+ Generate ideas for proprietary books and brands.**Team Contribution**+ Provide valuable editorial insight that influences decision making and ideation.+ Spot market trends and comprehend readers' needs.+ Build and maintain trustworthy relationships with authors and agents.+ Coordinate with sales, operations, and publishers for approvals.+ Capable of condensing extensive information and effectively conveying essential points to others.**Qualifications****Knowledge** **:** We're seeking an editor with a strong grasp of the _Chicago Manual of Style_ and flawless English. A keen eye for spotting errors and profound understanding of the book editing process will be beneficial. Familiarity with the _Christian Writer’s Manual of Style_ is preferred.**Work Experience:** Minimum 3 years’ editorial experience, preferably in trade book publishing. Experience in the book publishing industry, with a focus on Christian trade publishing, is highly preferred. Knowledge of key authors and ministries in the Christian space is a plus.**Education:** A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or related field is required. A working understanding of Biblical teaching or Christian principles would be a great advantage.**Industry Knowledge:** A sense of the book market, leading voices, and varying book formats is desired.
