We combine creativity and data to uncover differentiating insights that drive business growth for our clients. We have innate curiosity to explore, interrogate and synthesize all forms of data to help us determine what makes people tick. Our department is made up of three interconnected pillars; People, Business and Cultural Intelligence. This combined intelligence allows us to understand why/how people make decisions, explore how these decisions are made in the context of culture and determine the necessary media investment to deliver on KPIs.The Director, Insights Center Of Excellence, will champion a people-first approach to unearth actionable insights for a major client. The Director leads the team responsible for generating meaningful intelligence across People and Culture to drive positive Business outcomes. This role will require a rich understanding of the entire data ecosystem, and the know how to design and implement innovative research solutions. This role centers on data-driven story-telling applying the foundations of behavioral science.The successful candidate fosters team growth, is curious, creative and a collaborative problem-solver.**_Role Objectives_**Overall:+ Work in partnership with senior agency strategy, planning and analytic leads to carve out new opportunities for actionable insights within existing workstreams+ Establish bespoke insight solutions aligned to business priorities+ Innovate strategic, data rigorous approaches to combat data scarcity+ Create connections between diverse and disparate data sets to derive meaningful insights+ Develop and manage vendor relationships in service of category insights+ Develop research hypotheses, construct research plan/methodology and conduct research (syndicated, secondary, social listening, qualitative and quantitative custom research) to solve clients burning questions+ Oversee the development of insights presentations inclusive of data visualization and strategic storytelling+ Foster relationships with senior level clients to uncover growth opportunities and craft the right insight solutions to deliver on KPIs+ Evaluate innovative data partners to develop new approaches to uncovering insights+ Develop and lead agency thought leadership studies and translate into meaningful client implications+ Incorporate the fundamental principles of Starcom’s inclusive marketing philosophy and planning approachPeople Intelligence: 80%+ Develop overarching audience growth strategies and frameworks+ Bring the audiences to life through compelling storytelling+ Champion inclusive audience considerations+ Uncover motivations, behaviors, and audience needs for increasingly audience-led media experiences+ Exhibit in-depth understanding of the use and relevant application of audience ID data+ Identify and define most valuable audience segments for clients using syndicated data and/or Epsilon individual ID’s (via Epsilon People Cloud)Cultural Intelligence: 10%+ Work in conjunction with the Cultural Intelligence team to explore and monitor cultural, category and audience specific trends to educate internal teams, partner agencies and clients+ Translation of trends into strategic opportunities and implications+ Adopt a people and culture first approachBusiness Intelligence: 10%+ Category analysis and evaluation of a brands market position+ Marketplace understanding for brands in different life stages+ Evaluate new territories for media experiences in partnership with strategy and activation teams+ Collaborate with the business intelligence team to quantify the growth potential of key target audiences+ Collaborate with the business intelligence team to validate media investment to ensure sufficiency to drive KPIs**Qualifications**+ Bachelor’s degree+ 7-10+ years in media/marketing research, consumer insight, business consulting, or digital advertising research/analytics/ insight+ Strong grounding in traditional and digital media research (control/exposed methodologies, market mix modeling)+ Strong comfort with ambiguity+ Proactive nature+ Demonstrated ability to establish new processes and products+ Strong relationship building skills with agency cross-functional teams+ Demonstrated experience storytelling and providing solutions with disparate data+ Experience with multiple methodological approaches (social listening, syndicated tools, primary research)+ Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets+ Strong grounding in traditional and digital media analytics, such as advertising effectiveness, ROI+ Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, GoodData, Datorama is a plus+ Strong verbal and written communication skills+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills; PowerPoint and advanced Excel+ Ability to manage people and foster career growth and development**Additional Information**Starcom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
