The office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to the Senior Director.Primary Purpose of Job:The Senior Health Promotion Coordinator Coordinates EAC NETWORK Senior Health Promotion program; performs related duties as required.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:+ Work closely with the senior centers and Office for the Aging to identify and implement wellness programs to meet the needs of the community.+ Oversee consultants and volunteers who provide health promotion activities, including on-site visits to locations throughout Nassau County.+ Identify and build community partnerships to increase access to health promotion programs for seniors in Nassau County.+ Utilize the educational training, skills, and experience obtained from advanced degree to provide appropriate professional services, techniques, and strategies for clients.+ Monitor timesheets, enter participation reports and distribute monthly schedule confirmations.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required;+ Bachelors Degree required in Public Health, Psychology, Health Education or a health-related field.+ Minimum of two years of relevant experience required.+ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.+ Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.+ Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of public health education and trends at national, state and community levels.+ Must possess valid NY State Driver's License and have access to vehicle.+ Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with community agencies and the public.
