Location: Albany, NY Category: Staff Positions Posted On: Thu Aug 1 2024 Job Description:The Administrative Assistant reports to the department Chair and supports the visual arts faculty/staff in the daily operations of a robust department. Housed on the Albany campus of Russell Sage College, the visual arts includes studio art, graphic design, interior design, and art therapy degree programs. This full-time, 12-month position includes full benefits and provides the following administrative support:+ Primary contact for the department including students, faculty, administrators, visitors, and vendors.+ Manage visual arts office workflow: phones, filing, mail, calendars, and appointment requests.+ Create requisitions, order supplies, track deliveries, and maintain vendor accounts.+ Maintain department databases: budget, mailing lists, inventory, alumni, and student FOBs.+ Coordinate bus trips to include booking, payments, permission forms, and emergency contacts.+ Organize Little Gallery scheduling, contracts, gallery access, and reception orders with SODEXO.+ Manage Open Studio Figure Drawing: scheduling models, sending announcements, and taking payments.+ Interface with Public Safety for building access, fire inspections, incident reports, and emergencies.+ Take minutes at monthly department meetings. Attend program meetings when requested.+ Other duties as assigned by the Chair.The estimated wage is $18.09 per hour for 37.5 hours per week for 52 weeks.Job Requirements:+ A minimum of a bachelor's degree and two years of experience in a clerical or professional assistant role is preferred.+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite with excellent writing skills.+ Experience with Photoshop, WordPress, and/or photography is highly desirable, but not required.The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, appreciate efficiency, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a diverse learning environment with faculty, staff, students, and administrators.Additional Information:RSC offers a dynamic college environment and friendly work atmosphere along with opportunities for tuition waiver, employer matched retirement plan for eligible employees and many other benefits.
