The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.**Role Description**SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. (CM) is a derivatives trading company which was started in 1988 and is based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong Kong. SMBC CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange products including interest rates swaps, currency swaps and forwards (deliverable and non-deliverable) as well as structured and option based strategies, both stand-alone and embedded.Experienced derivatives marketing Vice President to work in a team of interest rate derivatives marketers covering subsidiaries of large Japanese corporate clients based in North America, SMBC affiliate companies, and supporting senior relationship bankers. You will manage all phases of the counterparty and trade life-cycle from company research, counterparty onboarding, preparation and delivery of marketing materials, pre-trade modeling -- to live trade execution and post-trade support.**Role Objectives**Responsibilities+ Act as a marketer on live trade executions managing client and trader communications in addition to models and systems.+ Oversee new and on-going counterparty onboarding requirements across credit, legal, AML/KYC, and compliance/regulatory groups.+ Prepare pitch books and other marketing materials with a focus on determining meeting content, creating new materials, conducting analysis, and writing text to support charts and tables.+ Engage with SMBC bankers and clients through phone calls, video conferences and SMBC hosted events as well occasional client travel.+ Assist in the development and delivery of derivative risk management solutions based on a thorough understanding of our clients’ business needs as well as gathering and analyzing data in relevant industries for new opportunities and solutions.+ Interact with relationship bankers on client calling and credit management and partners in debt capital markets and other products on specific client pitches and deal teams.**Qualifications and Skills**+ Fluency in Japanese is a prerequisite.+ 5 years of interest rate derivatives sales experience, preferably marketing to corporate clients.+ Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Math, Science, Engineering.+ Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including macros and coding.+ Proficiency in Bloomberg including trade modeling, downloading data into Excel using formulas and Excel pricing functions.+ Deep theoretical understanding of the pricing of interest rate derivatives, bond math and market and credit risk measurements.
