Clinical Communications CoordinatorJob DetailsJob LocationBellevue - Bellevue, WAPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$25.31 - $36.71 HourlyDescription and QualificationsThe Clinical Communications Coordinator I (CCC I) is responsible for the screening and routing of all organ donor referral calls. The position involves on-call triage responsibilities related to identification, evaluation, management, and coordination of donor activity and all related documentation. This position also provides information to the Resource Triage Coordinator (RTC), Clinical Administrator On-Call (AOC) and/or Family Support Administrator On-Call (FSAOC) to assess donation potential and maximize donation performance.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSReferral Response & Donation Authorization+ Takes 7 triage shifts within a pay period to ensure 24/7 coverage for organ donor referrals.+ Answers death notification referral calls in a timely and accurate manner.+ Using established guidelines and critical thinking, performs initial evaluation of all referral calls to determine if the patient is suitable for potential donation. Communicates pertinent referral screening information to the RTC, AOC and/or FSAOC and provides additional details as requested.+ Connects with hospital staff members to obtain thorough and accurate medical information regarding the donor.+ Provides exemplary customer services to all callers and stakeholders.+ Routes donor referral calls and/or recorded messages to the appropriate staff member. Enters data of potential donor referral information into electronic medical record via iTransplant.+ Coordinates and performs ongoing evaluation of referred potential organ donors and communicates any escalations to RTC, AOC and/or FSAOC as appropriate.+ Accurately completes donor records and/or chart corrections in a timely manner.+ Maintains confidentiality of all donors, recipients, and/or other identifying information.Cross-Collaborative Opportunities & Administrative Responsibilities+ Collaborates with donor hospital staff, recovery partners, and LifeCenter Northwest (LifeCenter) teams to facilitate successful donation outcomes.+ Attends departmental and organizational meetings.+ Completes required training to ensure compliance, and to remain current on practices and required certifications.+ Maintains professional responsibilities including submitting timecards and expense reports on time, adhering to quality assurance guidelines, and participating in process improvement.+ May have colleagues from other departments shadow at leadership’s discretion.Supervision+ This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.Other Responsibilities+ Performs other related duties as required by the company and the senior leadership team.+ Demonstrates engagement with the team and the organization.+ Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and LifeCenter policies and procedures.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES+ This individual must demonstrate operating knowledge of computers and smart phones with a demonstrable, intermediate level skill (at a minimum) with Outlook, Word, Excel, and other comparable software programs.+ A proactive team player who must uphold the core values of the organization; these include respect, integrity, collaboration, service, and courageous leadership.+ Actively fosters an organizational culture based on collaboration, support, and constructive communication.+ Must be able to analyze and assess situations, create solutions to solve problems, and motivate others to continually improve the processes necessary to meet organizational deliverables.+ Ability to learn new tools, applications, and technologies quickly, easily, and independently.+ An ability to accurately present the donation process in formal and informal educational opportunities.+ Must be compassionate, conscientious, ethical, and possess versatile interpersonal skills that support effective communication with health care professionals and donor families.+ Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and pathology, ability to translate complex medical information into easily understandable language for staff to understand.+ Must be able to clearly communicate over the phone, in person, and in writing in English.BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTSThe employee in this position must uphold the core values of LifeCenter; these include:+ Integrity : We are trustworthy, reliable, respectful, and accountable.+ Collaboration : We work in partnership with others, seeking to understand and be understood, and finding common ground and shared goals to build upon together.+ Courage : We take personal responsibility and face challenges head-on.+ Service: Through professionalism and dedication, we honor our commitment to serve others and our obligation to be good stewards of the gift of life.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/REQUIREMENTS+ This position requires flexible scheduling and on-call responsibilities, including weekends and holidays. May require regular overtime.+ Required to sit, stand, or bend for an extended period of time.+ This position requires ability to effectively operate phones, computers, smart phones, and office equipment.+ Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception,+ and the ability to adjust focus.+ Must be able to effectively communicate in a variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor, and under a variety of environmental conditions.+ Requires ability to work under stress with numerous interruptions, distractions, and changing priorities.+ Must have a clear understanding of universal precautions and consistently adhere to these standards.+ Work is normally performed in an office, either from a LifeCenter office and/or a home office.+ This position may be required to follow hospital immunization, health screening, and background check requirements. Immunizations and tests will be provided by LifeCenter as required.+ The employee must be able to move up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENTThis position requires on-call availability, evening, holiday, and weekend work.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS+ B.S. in Health Sciences or related field, or equivalent academic endeavor, or+ Two – five (2-5) years of emergency or critical care experience in a healthcare setting or hospital, or+ Two – five (2-5) years of knowledge and experience in science, health, organ/tissue donation or equivalent field, or+ Two – five (2-5) years of contact center experience, preferably in a healthcare related settingBenefits and CompensationLifeCenter Northwest offers medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment insurance, long-term disability insurance, and travel accident insurance.
