**Organization:**CPMC-California Pacific Med Center**Position Overview:**Under the general supervision of the Manager of Patient Care and Integrated Therapies, will provide comprehensive music therapy services for patients and family members that meet the emotional, physical, cognitive, social/cultural and communicative needs. Provides music therapy services for patients and families at end of life in collaboration with the psychosocial team. Provides in-service education. Documents music therapy interventions in patient charts. Communicates effectively with multidisciplinary team, manager, and creative arts team members on clinical care planning and issues revealed through music therapy session. Develops and maintains graduate music therapy practicum and internship program through collaboration with local universities and management team. Supervise volunteers and interns to students providing music-based interventions. Maintains accurate music therapy statistics and data.**Job Description** :**EDUCATION**Bachelor's: Arts Therapy, Psychology, or related field or equivalent education/experienceBoard Certification in Music Therapy within 1 year of hire, with completion of internship in Music Therapy.**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**+ Familiar with basic activities therapies, devices and equipment, and the ability to adapt activities to various levels of patient function and skill level.+ Working knowledge of The Joint Commission, Title 22, and Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA) as they relate to activities therapy.+ General understanding of medical terminology, including working proficiency in activity interest surveys, Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Resident Assessment Protocol (RAP) evaluations.+ Possesses solid written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills to explain treatments, diagnoses, or sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.+ Program development/administration skills, including effective group leadership skills.+ Attention to detail with good time management with sound observation and organizational skills.+ Basic experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and EPIC.+ Ability to work in an environment with aged, chronically ill, disoriented, and sometimes contentious patients.+ Ability to prioritize assignments under varied and urgent conditions and work within procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.+ Ability to perform detailed tasks thoroughly and completely, using existing procedures to identify and solve routine or standard problems.+ Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI).+ Ability to build collaborative relationships with patients, their families/care givers, peers, and other healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, etc.) to provide the highest quality of patient care.**Job Shift:**Days**Schedule:**Full Time**Shift Hours:**8**Days of the Week:**Variable**Weekend Requirements:**Occasionally**Benefits:**Yes**Unions:**No**Position Status:**Non-Exempt**Weekly Hours:**40**Employee Status:**Regular**Number of Openings:**1Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $39.59 to $53.44 / hour_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
