**Job Description**The selected candidate will conduct training and testing of the installed Radio Communications Systems on various classes of US Navy ships. Must have an in-depth knowledge of US Navy communications protocols, applications, and equipment/system set-up and troubleshooting procedures. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team conducting testing of equipment/systems and crew proficiency in operation of shipboard communications systems.The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate for Tech IV $32.30 an hourThis position is located in San Diego, CA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to San Diego, CA or surrounding areas.**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**High school diploma and at least 4 years of related experienceUS Navy ET with shipboard/submarine experienceUS Navy A SchoolAbility to set-up and operate complex US Navy communications systemsAbility to effectively train and interact with shipboard personnelAbility to lead a watch team as a Satellite Communications SupervisorAbility to travel and get underway at sea (up to 25%)Ability to work in an industrial environment and wear all required PPEAbility to work at heights**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**Valid US passportExperience as a technical instructorShipboard Communications equipment maintenance experienceCG, DDG or LCS ship class experienceTime served at a Navy Computer and Telecommunication Station**Pay Information**This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).
