Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development.The Department of English currently has ten tenured or tenure-track professors as well as adjuncts and lecturers teaching a diverse array of courses in literature, composition, creative and professional writing, linguistics, and critical theory. We offer both a literature track and a writing track that incorporates professional and creative writing. Our faculty are encouraged to design courses in their areas of specialty and have the opportunity to teach cross-listed courses with Women's and Gender Studies, Africana and Latinx Studies, World Languages and Literatures, Philosophy, and other departments. About half of our students are dual-Adolescent Education majors.
