As a member of the Marketing and Communications department, the Project Manager & Editor plays a critical role in stewarding the SLSO's brand and voice across a variety of external communications as well as maintaining the efficient creation of these communications. Under the supervision of the Content Director, the Project Manager & Editor guides the production of campaigns and promotional materials, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy. Through writing, editing, and proofreading, the role supports the development of high-quality content that resonates with audiences and donors and aligns with the SLSO’s institutional goals.The successful candidate has exceptional editorial and project management skills, with the ability to strategically and creatively adapt communications for target audiences and platforms and to work effectively with colleagues across departments. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant organization and make a significant impact on the SLSO’s brand and audience experience.Responsibilities:+ Develop and implement project timelines, deadlines, and routing processes for external communications stemming from Marketing and Communications, Philanthropy, and Education and Community Partnerships, using the SLSO’s project management system and coordinating across departments to ensure smooth workflows, timely delivery, and alignment of communications.+ Serve as the primary Marketing & Communications liaison with the Education and Community Partnerships department, working with colleagues to develop collateral, emails, and other communications for targeted family, school, and community audiences and ensuring projects align with overall marketing/communications efforts.+ Through copywriting, editing, and proofreading, deliver high-quality, creative, and accurate content that embodies the SLSO’s brand, voice, and institutional objectives.+ Manage production of seasonal marketing materials, coordinating with internal staff and external vendors to gather and communicate such information as print quantity, due date, cost estimates, and mailing lists.+ Maintain style guide and official program descriptions in support of organization-wide consistency and accuracy in communications. Maintain the SLSO’s project management system, engaging in ongoing learning about the software and related best practices in order to streamline processes and ensure the most effective use of the tool.+ Embrace the SLSO’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, as well as support a respectful organizational culture.+ Serve in department rotation as representative at concerts and events.Qualifications:+ Bachelor's degree in related field (communications, journalism, marketing, etc.) or equivalent experience.+ Minimum of three years of experience in editing, writing, and project management. Experience in the arts sector or a comparable industry preferred.+ Exceptional copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and platform. Experience using Chicago or AP style is preferred.+ Superior project management skills, with experience implementing project management systems. Experience using Monday.com is preferred.+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.+ Ability to maintain brand consistency across all content initiatives.+ Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.+ Strong organizational and administrative skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and work independently.+ Cultural competency with a diverse group of artists, staff, and community stakeholders.+ Commitment to the mission of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the arts more broadly. Knowledge of orchestral music and the performing arts is a plus.+ Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends at events.The salary range for this position is $45,000-$55,000 + benefits.
