The MORNING TRAFFIC REPORTER / METEROLOGIST is a rare opportunity to join CW39 Houston in a high-profile critical role. The ideal candidate must have strong public speaking skills, prior experience as a traffic anchor, and more than five years of experience in broadcasting is preferred. Must be fully engaged and tech savvy to analyze traffic & weather data to produce and anchor weather & traffic reports in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers on all platforms. Exceptional social media skills required. Knowledge of W.S.I. traffic & weather systems a plus. Will also host sponsored content show as needed. Shooting and editing skills also a plus. (Depending on market size.)+ Fluency in English (Fluency in Spanish a plus)+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written+ Superior on-air presence+ Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners and other office equipment+ Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.+ Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.+ Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution+ Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously+ Valid driver’s license with a good driving record+ Flexibility to work any shiftNexstar Media Group, Inc.
