As such, there’s a need to strengthen marketing plans to support acquisition targets. A been-there/done-that marketing strategist will play a lead role in developing marketing plans and leveraging internal and external resources to see plans through to execution. The ideal person in this role needs to act urgently, move easily from the conceptual to the practical and know how, when and why to leverage media and marketing tactics for the right outcomes. They need to be a data-driven marketer who can inspire and lead others with their efforts.Activities and Recurring Tasks+ Take a leadership role in the planning, implementation and management of marketing initiatives to support the growth of undergraduate and/or graduate student enrollments+ Establish and manage budgets+ Work with internal and external resources on planning and execution+ Manage third-party marketing partnership as needed; possible supervision of staff+ Collect and analyze market and competitive data+ Establish marketing KPIs+ Track and report results+ Research marketing trends and changes+ Brainstorm innovative marketing campaigns+ Meet with clients to evaluate marketing needs and get feedbackRelationshipsThe person in this role will work with personnel across the college, including but not limited to:+ Peer Team within the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications+ The RIIT Group (The IT team within Smeal)+ Penn State Strategic Communications+ Penn State World Campus+ Academic, Center and Program Leaders within SmealRequirements & Skills/Abilities+ Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business administration or a related field/discipline+ Demonstrable experience (6 years minimum) performing many, if not all of, the activities/recurring tasks.
