Ford School of Public Policy is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist that will support and amplify its work on the Democracy, Civic Empowerment, and Global Engagement (DCEGE) Presidential Initiative for two years , and enhance engagement with our audiences through a variety of communications channels and events.You will be part of the Democracy, Civic Empowerment, and Global Engagement team and work closely with the co-chairs of the initiative. You will report to the Strategic Consultant of Democratic Engagement with additional guidance from the Marketing & Communications and Public Affairs teams. You will provide creativity and leadership by creating promotional assets, designing and implementing university-wide communications, managing event coordination, and tracking data on communications activities.The Ford School is one of the nation's foremost policy schools, housed at one of the world's great public universities. Ensure brand standards and accessibility across platforms and rapid response to inquiries.+ Develop content and distribute DCEGE e-newsletters for internal and external audiences using Mailchimp.+ Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to manage social media assets, assure brand standards, and maintain a content calendar to meet publication deadlines for the DCEGE initiative.+ Contribute to the planning, management and execution of events and programming, (in-person, hybrid, and virtual) related to the DCEGE initiative. This includes setting up the backend of online/hybrid events, moderating audience participation for live streamed events, promoting events, creating materials, and coordinating photography and videography.+ Develop and manage graphic designs for DCEGE communications and events.+ Draft and coordinate content and event updates on the DCEGE website, and keep the website updated.+ Find internal and external opportunities to amplify faculty research in the democracy, civic, and global engagement space.**Required Qualifications***+ Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.+ 1+ years of professional experience writing, designing marketing materials and copy editing, with demonstrated commitment to attention to detail and accuracy.+ Professional experience with Sanity, a website content platform+ Experience adapting messages for multiple media platforms (e.g. websites, social media, newsletters)+ Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time to meet deadlines.+ Experience working with content management and email systems (e.g. Mailchimp), graphic design software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), and current digital marketing technologies.+ A passion for democracy and civic engagement.**Modes of Work**Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
