This position is hybrid, with the standard work schedule consisting of 3 days onsite and up to 2 days telework. Client meetings, requirements and deployment activities may cause alternations to this occasionally in order to accommodate client needs. The ideal candidate will hold a Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI/CI polygraph. As a Configuration Manager and Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in supporting our client's projects and ensuring documentation accuracy and consistency.Position Description:The Configuration Manager and Technical Writer will be responsible for managing and tracking all configuration items for our projects, including software, hardware, documentation, and other deliverables. Key responsibilities include:+ Establishing and maintaining configuration management plans and procedures.+ Tracking and documenting changes to configuration items throughout the project lifecycle.+ Collaborating with development and engineering teams to ensure configuration management best practices are followed.+ Conducting configuration audits to verify compliance with established protocols.+ Developing technical documentation, including user guides, SOPs, and system specifications.+ Editing and proofreading technical documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.+ Supporting ad hoc documentation tasks such as lifecycle management of assets.**Education and Experience:**Required:+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.+ 2+ years of experience in technical writing and/or configuration management.+ Previous experience working in a government contracting environment.+ Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI/CI polygraph.Required Skills and Competencies:+ Strong technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical writing tools.+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.+ Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.+ Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Desired Skills and Competencies:+ Knowledge of configuration management principles and best practices.+ Experience working with federal government clients.+ Familiarity with configuration management tools and software.+ Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CSEP, CMII).+ Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).+ Previous experience with document version control and repository management.+ Experience with Agile development methodologies.+ Familiarity with security clearance processes and requirements.**Working Environment & Conditions**This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.
