Social Media Manager

About the Position:We are looking for a social media manager to manage a fake property management Instagram page. The end goal of the page is to spread the word about a short film, "Five Star Realtors." You would be responsible for growing the page, keeping it entertaining, and converting some of the viewers into pledge members on our crowdfunding campaign.About the Short Film:"Five Star Realtors" is an absurdist satire about three morally dubious property managers who struggle to live the life of luxury they desire. They hatch a plan to scam their tenants to raise the funds they need. The purpose of the film is to satirize the scum lord that everyone has either had or heard of from friends, particularly focusing on student housing. The end of the film sees the property managers punished for their wrongdoings. While the characters believe it is the end of the world, we as the audience see the irony in what hardly constitutes a slap on the wrist.Why We Need You:We are attempting to raise ten thousand dollars in order to get this film made. A large part of our fundraising strategy is to spread the word about the film via social media, particularly in a way where it can be seen by college students. While the producers of the film are focusing all their attention on producing the film and planning for production, we need someone to lead the social media campaign.Compensation:While ten thousand dollars may sound like a lot, for a short film of this scale it is a very small budget. It is because of this that we have listed this role as a volunteer position. If selected for this role, you will receive on-screen credit, IMDb credit, and you can show up to the set during filming to get some free food. You will be joining a large team of passionate volunteers working on this project, and if we manage to raise more than our goal, we will be evenly paying out our volunteers.
