Summary

Associate Media DirectorWe are looking for an Associate Media Director to join our growing Media Team!The Associate Media Director role will develop and manage the day-to-day media strategy, planning and execution of all assigned client programs, working across a mix of awareness, performance and retail marketing media channels within both traditional and digital media. They will assume responsibility for day-to-day campaign management as well as maintaining positive relationships with clients and our creative, strategy and technology teams. The Associate Media Director will work in close partnership with our account, analytics, strategy, creative, and programmatic teams to develop programs that drive business outcomes for our clients.Your main responsibilities will include management and growth of a portfolio of accounts, driving business conversations with clients, and developing successful media strategies, with a focus on Retail/Commerce/Shopper activations, through cross-disciplinary collaboration. You'll play a pivotal role in helping to grow Amp's commerce practice in the planning and activation of campaigns across retail media, including: Amazon, Walmart Connects, Kroger's KPM, Target's Roundel, retail networks such as Criteo and Epsilon Retail Media and more.We're looking for someone who is excited by the prospect of partnering to build out this new discipline in our department -- that thinks outside the box, is passionate about process and operations, and wants to create a lasting impact on the team. Our ideal candidate has a go-getter attitude and is comfortable with the unknown and loves building and developing processes.Media Strategy and PlanningDevelop and execute comprehensive media strategies, including but not limited to retail-specific recommendations, aligned with business objectives.

Collaborate with internal teams to define target audiences, messaging, and recommended media channels; for select commerce clients, the focus will be specific to retail environments (both onsite and offsite) but may include strategies that integrate brand and performance efforts as well for an omnichannel presence.Optimize media budgets, esp. on CPG retail campaigns, to maximize ROI and/or ROASFor retail specific accounts, you will play key role in strategic JBP discussions, annual negotiations and agreementsCreate and execute a vision for how the team leads commerce clients in the retail media space from strategy through to excellence in executionMedia ExecutionOversee the implementation of media campaigns across various channels, esp. retail platforms for commerce brands (e.g., retailer websites, mobile apps, in-store displays, offsite display opportunities, sponsored content).Partner with department leads to create net-new operations for growing retail media practice.Ensure timely and accurate execution of media plans and ongoing optimization recommendations.Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed.Partnership ManagementCultivate and maintain strong relationships with external media partners, agencies, and vendors.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with media partners.Retail specific: collaborate closely with retail customers and business units to align retail media efforts with overall marketing initiatives.Thought Leadership and Industry TrendsStay abreast of media industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies, esp. the retail spaceDeliver perspective and thought leadership within the organization and externally.Provide insights on how media can drive brand awareness, sales, and customer engagement.Contribute to agency's POV and capabilities around commerce mediaAnalytics and ReportingPartner with the agency's media analytics team to utilize data and analytics tools to measure media campaign effectiveness and create media performance reports and insights to stakeholders

Requirements/Skills:

5-7 years agency, retail or brand side experience building media strategies and tactical plans across onsite and offsite search and display tacticsExperience working within an integrated media team across digital and traditional media; experience managing a team of 2+ media professionals is a plusDemonstrated ability to execute high-impact marketing campaigns that exceed client KPI'sFull funnel media planning experience taking into account several ad formats, audiences, and seasonal periodsFamiliarity with both brand and performance media KPIs, esp. with an eye towards key retail metricsAble to consistently produce results while meeting deadlines and juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge and expertise of ad serving and tracking platforms such as Google Campaign ManagerStrong PowerPoint skills required as well as demonstrated ability to create client ready presentationsProficiency in Excel and experience working with an advanced analytics team preferredBA/BS in marketing communications or related fieldProficiency in overseeing the management & success of a large client portfolioPreferred Skills:Experience with retail media networks of all sizes and has planned and led a team in execution is preferred; knowledge of retail media advertising sponsored ads and DSP platforms is desired

Strong familiarity with the digital environment and a clear understanding of media planning and buying process (multi-channel knowledge and Criteo, Target, Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, etc. search experience preferred).

Experience working with Vendor & Seller Central, Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and 3rd party bid management platforms such as Skai or Pacvue is a plusComprehensive understanding of the retail industryKnowledge of comScore, Ad Intel and Simmons as well as other media planning and competitive tools a plus
