Minimum Qualifications

5+ of experience guiding cross functional teams through product inception, launch, and ongoing iteration. Owning all phases of research (i.e. foundational, generative, and evaluative) and building trusting partnerships with stakeholdersBachelor's degree in human-computer interaction (HCI) or social sciences fieldDemonstrated ability in collaborating with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to curate research roadmap, plan, execute, synthesize and share user research for multiple initiatives at onceDemonstrated ability in presentation and storytellingDemonstrated ability in facilitating ideation, alignment and engagement workshops with a variety of disciplines and stakeholdersDemonstrated expertise in mixed methods research and executing a variety of research methodologies, including field studies, semi-structured interviews, diary studies, usability studies, surveys, focus groups, card sorting and benchmarking.Strong communicator, self-starter, strategic thinker, and capable of working in a fast-paced, matrixed corporate environmentResearchers at Rocket should have a history of researching real products and featuresPreferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience in user research and/or similar fieldMaster's or professional degree in human-computer interaction (HCI), psychology, anthropology, sociology or related fieldAdvanced demonstrated ability in leading exploratory research activities such as contextual inquiry, ethnography and diary studiesAdvanced demonstrated ability in leading evaluative research activities such as usability testing, heuristics evaluations, surveys and clickstream analysisUnderstanding of A/B and multi-variate testingDemonstrated partnering across various research teams (e.g. Voice of the Customer, Market Research, Analytics, etc.)Understanding of the mortgage or financial services industry (fintech)Job Summary

As a Senior Design Researcher, you'll use mixed research methods to plan and execute studies that drive empathy and understanding of user goals, needs, attitude and behaviors. You'll translate user research findings into insights and design improvements. You'll work closely with the Product and Design teams to ensure research insights are incorporated into product and design decisions. As a champion of the UX research discipline, you'll foster a culture of research and continuous learning across the company.

Actively identify research opportunities across business areas, then size and prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesParticipate in quarterly planning sessions to represent UX Research and create product-led research roadmapsDesign and conduct innovative, robust, inclusive studies that balance diverse research methods (qualitative/quantitative, behavioral/attitudinal, generative/evaluative) within the appropriate scopeGather and synthesize research findings into actionable insights, packaged and delivered in ways that cut through the noiseVisualize research findings into impactful artifacts such as customer journey maps, Jobs-To-Be-Done, service blueprints and mindsetsBuild strong relationships across business areas and disciplines as an evangelist of UX ResearchMentor and share best practices with other researchers through dedicated feedback, collaboration and delegationThis position may heavily contribute to research enablement programs

Colorado, New York City, Jersey City, California, D.C and Washington Candidates Only. The salary range for this position is ninety-seven thousand five hundred dollars to two hundred five thousand five hundred dollars. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
