We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team and lead the development of our Design System. Our product teams use Loom’s ”Lens Design System,” to build beautiful, engaging, inclusive, accessible and useful products consistently to our users. This is the first design systems role we are hiring for, making it an exciting opportunity to help us mature our design language. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our product design, ensuring that our design language is consistent, scalable, and innovative. You will be a key driver in establishing Loom's Lens Design System within Atlassian, aiming to enhance efficiency across all areas of the design process.ResponsibilitiesLead Design System Development: Build and maintain Loom's Lens Design System in collaboration with front-end UI engineering teams. You will be the leading voice in advocating and driving decisions about our design system roadmap and outcomes.Design Artifacts: Deliver style guides, patterns, styles, prototypes and components that articulate Loom’s Lens Design System's vision.Assess and refine: Continuously assess and refine our design system based on feedback and evolving user needs, ensuring it remains a living, adaptable resource.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure our design system is integrated seamlessly across all product experiences.Mentor and advocate: Mentor and level up craft across our teams in adopting and contributing to our design system, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared ownership.Quality and Consistency: Be an advocate for high-quality design and consistency in user experience across all platforms.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 7+ years in UX design, with hands-on experience in creating design system frameworks and style guides. Proven experience in building and scaling design systems within large, complex organizations.Technical Skills: A solid engineering acumen is essential for successful collaboration with the engineering team. Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience working alongside front-end and back-end teams.Design Expertise: Ability to apply UX/UI principles to create delightful and usable solutions, with excellent visual and interaction design skills. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:Zone A: $160,300 - $213,700Zone B: $144,300 - $192,300Zone C: $133,000 - $177,400This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones.
