The ideal candidate will have solid news judgment, strong anchoring and reporting skills, and the ability to tell memorable stories. You must have a track record of enterprising stories and winning the day.We are looking for a newsroom leader who is a self-starter, a good newsroom citizen and an advocate for the target viewer. The ideal candidate will be an experienced anchor who thrives on bringing value to our local audience, drives important and breaking news and pitches good local enterprise stories and does daily in-depth reporting.ResponsibilitiesConversational anchor skills, ability to adlib with ease and connect audiences through professionalism and personalityCovers “day-of” news in accordance with station brand initiatives and audience content prioritiesMust have good time management skills and be able to anchor and report every shift.Ability to perform strong, interactive live shotsFill-in as anchor on other newscasts when necessaryWorks with producers and writers to improve newscastsEngage with audience on all relevant social media platformsRepresents station at public eventsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of on-air experienceMinimum of 3 years of anchoring experiencePast anchoring and reporting experience requiredProven track record of leadership and newscast ratings growthStrong journalistic ethicsAbility to work under tight deadlines and work a flexible scheduleDegree in Journalism or related fieldSalary Range: $100K -- $130K Depending on ExperienceTo Apply : Please visit the Work for Us page at KDVR.com: https://kdvr.com/contact/jobs-at-fox31-denver-kwgn or at the Nexstar Website at:https://nexstar.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/nexstar to complete the application process.
