The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $77,000/year to $95,000/year.

Full Salary Range:

The full salary range for this position is $77,000/year to $139,200/year. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.

Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (+ 2 Saturdays a year)

Department Marketing Statement:

Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises houses 10,000 students, faculty and family residents on campus, provides support services for 9,300 students residing in the communities adjacent to the campus, serves 21,000 customers daily in its retail and board dining programs, manages the UCSB Campus Store and University Center, hosts 150,000 guests annually for conferences and meetings, manages a major events center (Events Center), and oversees the administration of transportation, parking and fleet services.

Brief Summary of Job Duties:

Under general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, performs a wide variety of communication and marketing duties related to the mission and goals of Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises. This position plays a key role in the Marketing & Communications Team (MarCom) that is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and overseeing the division's communications and marketing strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

4-6 years Experience with both Mac and Microsoft platforms using Adobe Creative Suite design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other graphics applications, and web applications.

4-6 years Experience in graphic design, marketing and/or social media management.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices.

Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and/or broad general audiences.

Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment; to display self-discipline to organize, plan, and prioritize and meet goals given by deadlines; manage multiple projects at the same time while maintaining high quality.

Knowledge of current social media platforms and strategies.

Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.

Knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite applications: Illustrator, Photoshop & Premiere, and other applications: Canva, Hootsuite, or similar Social Media management systems.

Strong project management skills.

Strong skills in event and media activities management.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-3 years Experience as a photographer, including lighting, composition, retouching, photo-illustration, photo manipulation and photo editing.

1-3 years Experience creating and editing short videos and animated graphics, using such software as Adobe Premiere and Adobe AfterEffect.

1-3 years Experience navigating and posting to social media sites including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest.

Knowledge of UC Santa Barbara, and HDAE's products, services, achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Maintain a valid CA driver's license, a clean DMV record and enrollment in the DMV Employer Pull-Notice Program.

Satisfactory criminal history background check.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:

Social Media Communications & Marketing - 50%:

Part of the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) Team that is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the division's communications and marketing strategies and initiatives.

Coordinate Digital Signage System - 40%:

Markets DigiKnow as a resource to student groups and campus departments. Responsible for programming DigiKnow, the digital signage network.

Special Projects - 10%:

Leads special projects as needed. Performs special duties as designated by Supervisor.
