Associate University Librarian, Rutgers University - Newark The Rutgers University Libraries (RUL) seek an experienced library administrator for the position of Associate University Librarian (AUL) – Newark. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Campus Libraries, and in line with RUL’s strategic priority of “One Libraries,” the successful candidate plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the John Cotton Dana Library and the Rutgers University Libraries.

All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.Responsibilities:Provide visionary leadership in planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to enhance library facilities, services, and programs.Oversee and nurture the Institute of Jazz Studies; foster its growth and promote its activities.Champion the professional growth and success of library faculty and staff through mentorship, training, and opportunities for advancement.Engage in RUL-wide planning, budgeting, operational, and personnel decision-making activities.Advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) goals within the Libraries and the broader university community.Act as a vocal advocate for the Libraries’ resources and services to university stakeholders and the broader community.Promote Rutgers University Libraries system-wide resources and services to key stakeholders.Participate actively in the appointment, reappointment, promotion, and tenure processes of library faculty.Represent the Libraries within the university, state, and national committees.The AUL -Newark must qualify for tenure on appointment and has a record of professional achievement through scholarly research relevant to academic librarianship.Qualifications:A master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited institution, with a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible administrative experience.Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.STATUS / BENEFITS:
