The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications develops, implements, and manages the marketing and communications strategic plan for The Nature Conservancy's Leveraging our Lands program. This position will report to the Director, North America Activation and Integration with a dotted line to the Director, Leveraging our Lands. This is a 3-year term position, with potential for renewal. The Associate Director will develop and implement a multi-year strategic marketing and communications plan designed to deepen supporter engagement and generate brand awareness and revenue via preserve visitation. They will develop strategic recommendations for and oversee the implementation of the plan while coordinating with colleagues across the organization to ensure representation of voices/perspectives and consistency of brand. They serve as the strategic lead for Leveraging our Lands' preserve marketing and activation efforts.Responsibilities:Develop a multi-year strategic marketing and communications plan as well as a structure for decision-making surrounding TNC's Leveraging our Lands initiative.Develop and measure KPIs to track audience engagement, awareness, revenue, and membership via preserve visitation.Manage Leveraging our Lands marketing and communications budget and create reports for funders.Implement the strategic marketing and communications plan and make recommendations for adjustments based on tracking KPIs tied to key results/interim milestones.Create online web content, digital promotions, email outreach, and social media engagement campaigns that are replicable across TNC.Organize, manage, and coordinate diverse projects and activities with many variables, including tracking, reporting, and analysis of digital performance data.Leverage a variety of digital tools and platforms.Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders.Work to resolve complex issues independently within program area.Ensure adherence to brand principles and alignment with global development priorities.Oversee contractors as needed.Assist with creation/administration of budget, evaluate results and develop corrective strategies as needed.Responsible for meeting strategic goals and objectives.May manage one or more professional staff and be accountable for achievement of team business and professional development goals.Influence without authority.Travel for business meetings, team retreats, and/or professional development.Other related duties as assigned.Skills and Experience:Multi-lingual skills appreciated.Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.Experience developing, implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.Solid knowledge of word processing and web platforms.Demonstrated ability in managing the fiduciary aspects of planning and delivery of budgets.Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation and negotiation skills.Familiarity with communication technologies and best practices.Management experience that includes ability to lead, motivate, set objectives and manage performance and conflict resolution.Ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups.Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing disciplines.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supervising staff and teams. Experience cultivating and managing client relationships. Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.
