Join us as a Communications Specialist with the Global Mission Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago! This office facilitates, resources, and supports efforts to reach out in love and solidarity globally. Collaborate closely with our Director and amplify the work of the office to build bridges of encounter and communion between the faithful of Chicago and communities of faith throughout our world. This part-time role offers the chance to engage with our dedicated team and the broader community, including the Archdiocesan Communications team and leaders from the Department of Parish Vitality and Mission. We seek a passionate individual committed to the global mission of the Catholic Church, adept at inspiring others through effective communication. Deepen your understanding of our Global Mission Office, its goals, programs, and impact.Cultivate relationships with our team, missionary partners, supporters, and volunteers.Under the Director's guidance, craft strategic communications including an annual report, direct mail, email campaigns, and compelling online content.Gather feedback from missionaries and beneficiaries to showcase our impact through various media channels such as videos, presentations, podcasts, and various marketing collateral.Manage digital content to maintain an engaging online presence via social media and our website.Utilize resources from the national office of the Pontifical Mission Societies to bolster our marketing efforts.Collaborate on donor engagement strategies to drive donations and expand our supporter base.If you're ready to make a difference and share our mission with the world, apply today and join us on this inspiring journey!QualificationsRequired

Bachelors or better in Communications or related field.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with at least three years of relevant communication experience.Excellent communicator, demonstrated ability to gather qualitative information into digestible content.Marketing and design experience.Knowledge or experience in Catholic ministry and/or intercultural experience.Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite.Demonstrated ability to manage a social media calendar across multiple platforms. Proficient in using digital/social media and monitoring and management tools.Enthusiastic about the work of the Global Mission Office with the ability to energize others about our work.Ability to inspire confidence and cooperation, discretion with confidential information.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad spectrum of people: staff, volunteers, program beneficiaries, board members, ministry leaders, and donors.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including impeccable grammar and editing in English.Highly organized, self-motivated, and resourceful, with the ability to prioritize.Possession of a valid Illinois driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.Preferred

Knowledge of fundraising strategies preferred.Fluency in Spanish or another language a plus.
