STR is seeking candidates ranging from experienced UX designers to technical leads; entry-level designers will not be considered for this role.

The Role:

You are skilled at breaking down tasks into short- and long-term steps and using a range of information to design and develop innovative UX features that meet customer needs. You approach problems by exploring ideas iteratively and delivering solutions that are technically feasible. This role requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as an interest in understanding how things work and a commitment to continuous learning. This role will be hybrid with up to 25% of time required in either our Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA office. Specific responsibilities include:

Create user-centric and data-centric designs that are intuitiveParticipate in others’ design efforts, offering constructive feedback to influence teamsUse systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions that scalePresent design work to leadership and stakeholdersIterate during the design process to ensure optimal usability and engagement with the UIUX Implementation teamCommunicate with the project team, users, and clients to develop and document requirementsParticipate as a member of an Agile/Scrum software teamCollaborate across numerous programs and divisions within the companyEncourage a design culture centered on the customer by promoting best practices and key design principles

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design related field or equivalent experience6+ years of UI/UX design experienceProficient in design tools, such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure, InVision, Miro, or equivalent toolsHave existing design portfolioProficient in design systems, user research, and usability testingExperience designing across more than one platform (mobile, desktop, native mobile, VR/MR/AR, movies)Ability to work through complex design solutions and understand the technology behind those solutionsDemonstrated understanding of user-centered and data-centric design principlesProactive in keeping up with UX trends and influencing UI/UX strategyKeen attention to detail, considering comprehensive user flows and their impactsPrevious experience mentoring teammatesAbility to clearly communicate ideas and solutions to teams and partnersAble to work independently and as part of a teamThis position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance, for which US citizenship is needed by the US Government
