Project Manager to join our Water Systems Engineering Department
for Baltimore, Maryland. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in the design of water and sewer pipelines and pumping stations to review design plans prepared by other consultants and provide project management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with reviewing and providing project management of water and sewer design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, as well as obtaining environmental permits and providing assistance during construction. A professional engineer (PE) license and a background in design reviewers within public agencies in Maryland is desired but not required for this position.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in reviewing and managing water and sewer pipeline and pumping station design plans prepared by consultants at our client's facility located in Baltimore, as an embedded staff. You will be responsible for:Oversee and manage the design and rehabilitation of water and sewer pumping stations and related projects.Evaluate and approve plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.Apply and obtain environmental permits in compliance with regulatory requirements.Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.Provide essential support during the construction phase of water and sewer pipeline and pumping station projects.Analyze proposals from consultants, review their designs, and develop consulting agreements.Resolve design-related challenges, draft and review project-related correspondence, and coordinate with external agencies, including the State Highway Administration, Maryland Department of the Environment, U.S. Corps of Engineers, and Baltimore City/County.Participate in public meetings and hearings.Investigate and respond to inquiries, information requests, and engineering-related complaints from the public.Demonstrate the ability to coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
Core RequirementsTo excel in this role, candidates must possess:A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering5+ years of experience in water/sewer pipeline and pumping station designsKnowledge of local water and sewer design requirements and codesStrong project management, written, and verbal communication skillsU.S. citizenship or Green Card immigration resident status in the United States
