Baker Publishing Group- Ada, MI/ Bloomington, MN/ RemoteAbout this position: Baker Publishing Group is seeking an Acquisitions Editor for the Chosen Books division. The ideal candidate will have an established track record of relationships within the Pentecostal/Charismatic streams of the church. The candidate will have a track record of strategically acquiring trade books that recognize the gifts and active ministry of the Holy Spirit. Specific categories of expertise desired include: prayer, intercession, spiritual warfare, prophecy, deliverance, healing and miracles, dreams, vision and God encounters, revival and reformation, Israel, the Middle East, and End Times prophecy and events.Essential activities include initiating and maintaining relationships with authors and literary agents, evaluating and presenting book proposals, completing substantive edits of manuscripts, generating new book concepts, and working collaboratively with editorial, marketing, and sales colleagues for maximum effectiveness. The person in this position will report to the Chosen Books Editorial Director and will be responsible for acquiring 18 high-quality projects per year that drive financial results.This position works with a team based in Bloomington, MN but may be fully remote, with periodic travel to Minnesota and the corporate office in Michigan required, in addition to acquisitions-related travel.Qualifications:

Strong knowledge in biblical and charismatic theologyExperience in charismatic practice and experienceMore than 3 years of book publishing, developmental editing, and acquisitions experienceAn established, diverse network of charismatic leaders and authors and agent contacts in relevant categories and a proven ability to network effectivelyStrong knowledge of the charismatic market and book industry; general Christian market knowledge a plusNegotiation skills and a knowledge of publishing contracts and P&LsProven ability to identify successful publishing projects that advance our mission and financial goalsStrong interpersonal communication skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, collaborative work ethicStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProven ability to identify and assess the potential success of publishing ideasAbility to access proposals and manuscripts and make recommendations for improvementSelf-starter with the ability to prioritize, manage schedules, handle multiple tasks, set and meet personal goals, and meet deadlinesCompensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
