The Assistant Director for Assessment, Marketing, and Outreach is crucial in advancing the Sanger Learning Center's strategic goals by overseeing assessment processes, developing effective marketing strategies, and facilitating outreach initiatives. This multifaceted position requires a blend of analytical skills, creativity, and strong communication abilities to promote the SLC's mission and effectively engage with stakeholders. The assistant director represents the department in the director's absence.Responsibilities:Assessment:Design, implement, and manage assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of programs, services, and initiatives.Collect, analyze, and interpret data to assess outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations.Collaborate with SLC units to develop assessment tools, surveys, and evaluation metrics.Oversee the development and implementation of program evaluation; work with Data to Insights, faculty specialists, and the Assessment Office to design, develop, and conduct evaluations.Manage development and dissemination of annual stakeholder reports.Marketing & Outreach:Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote the organization's services, programs, and events.Facilitate the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, presentations, and digital content, to engage target audiences.Manage digital marketing channels to reach audiences, including social media, email campaigns, and website content.Cultivate and maintain relationships with university partners, stakeholders, and target demographics to support outreach efforts.Coordinate outreach events, workshops, and presentations to increase visibility and participation in SLC services, including establishing and managing the "Don't Cancel Class," academic year workshops, and new student orientation programming.Collaborate with internal teams to develop outreach strategies that align with organizational goals and priorities.Track and evaluate outreach activities to measure impact and effectiveness.Administration & Supervision:Provide leadership and guidance to staff members involved in assessment, marketing, and outreach activities.Assess university policies, processes, and practices currently employed and recommend improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness, particularly regarding student success and academic achievement.Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting creativity, innovation, and professional growth.Coordinate cross-functional teams and projects to achieve shared objectives and maximize impact.Serve as direct and secondary supervisor of student service personnel comprising marketing and outreach. Provide training and continuing education, manage performance, conduct performance evaluations, manage corrective and disciplinary action as needed, and motivate staff to peak productivity, performance, excellence, and innovation.Collaborate with the Director to drive organizational change management; identify and measure access and return on investment.Professional Development:Maintain, participate, and contribute to current knowledge of academic support, theory, and best practices and provide training and continuing education to staff to continuously advance programs and student services.Required Qualifications:Master's degree in Educational Psychology, Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Marketing/Communication, or related field and five years of progressively responsible relevant experience in assessment, marketing, and outreach, including at least (2) two years of supervisory experience.Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in assessment, marketing, and outreach roles, preferably in an educational setting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.Knowledge of assessment methodologies and best practices.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns.Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.Experience working within marketing software with an emphasis on digital and email marketing.Experience working in Qualtrics, Tableau, and expertise in Microsoft Excel and other Office software.Salary Range:
