Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist (Public Sector) Selected individual will serve in a communications and marketing capacity within a Federal government agency focused on health, science, and research. This position requires extensive experience with search engine optimization and other content marketing strategies. In addition to marketing expertise, candidates should be comfortable working in a general consulting capacity; meaning, the selected individual must demonstrate mid-level career expertise in business process management, strategic consulting, project facilitation and analytics and reporting.The work will primarily support the overall communications strategy of the agency, playing a key role in the execution of content marketing strategies. The right person for the role will feel comfortable in a highly collaborative environment, while also able to work independently and take ownership of their assignments.Responsibilities:

Team includes technical, creative, and program management staff.• Create and maintain internal process documents to guide content owners, information architects, designers and technical team in SEO best practices.• Develop and own the plan to improve SEO for agency websites and subdomains• Write copy for website meta data and provide guidance for improving content for SEO.• Provide expertise to the technical team implementing changes to website for SEO.• Manage agency tools monitoring SEO on a daily basis and provide weekly reports.• Work with government branches who own their own websites to ensure subdomains are monitoring and improving issues and opportunities related to SEO.• Manage activities and resources within a coordinated content marketing plan.• Inform client on latest changes in search engine landscape/algorithms and SEO best practices.• Collaborate closely with team’s architect, creative director, and analytics lead
