Teach 100- and 200-level courses in the English research writing, Literature, Speech, and other related field. Plan, prepare, and present content materials to impart knowledge and develop learning and communication skills of students. Engage in activities that contribute to the educational and personal growth of students, and continue developing of HTIC as a quality school.Embrace the educational mission as set of living principles by which the learning community strives for excellence.Essential Functions:· Create a learning community in which respect for multilingualism and multiculturalism isfostered.· Develop an active learning environment in which lectures, exercises, and field trips arecombined; grade exams and papers; consult and work with students in groups and individually.· Keep abreast of developments in field of expertise through reading current literature,interacting with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.· Perform Program Review and Accreditation tasks, such as researching, preparing, and analyzing data for the assessment of the LA Program.· Maintain full responsibility of their assigned course(s) by preparing, conducting, assessing,and reporting class/student results to the Dean of Liberal Arts.· Carry out instructional and non-instructional assignments to students.· Provide students with research assistance and instruction on the use of computers, the Internet, and subject specific materials in both classroom instruction and one-on-oneguidance.· Participate in administrative and/or academic committees, meetings, and employee trainingsessions.· Participate in official school activities and functions.· Complete documentation and communicate with Student Services and Academic Services and the Dean of Liberal Arts in a timely manner regarding administrative/support matters(textbook orders, submission of syllabi, course schedules, and final grades).· Teach a minimum of three 3-credit courses and one 1-credit course (as needed), or equivalent workload.· Serve as a faculty mentor to students who are actively attending capstone research course (IS200).· Maintain a posted schedule of office hours (to be available at least one (1) hour per week).· Adhere to requirements of incorporating specific objectives and course outcomes for all classes taught in line with institutional outcomes and mission.· Proctor tests and exams.· Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Dean of Liberal Arts.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications:· Master’s degree in subject field from regionally accredited college or university at the time ofappointment.· Able to teach the following courses (or equivalent):o ENG 200: Research Writingo ENG 250: American Literatureo SP 151: Personal and Public Speecho ENG 253: World Literature I (to 1600)o ENG 254: World Literature II (after 1600)· Minimum of two year of previous college-level teaching experience.· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbal and in written form.· Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheets and Google applications.· Detail orientation and accuracy in duties performed.· Ability to handle diverse projects simultaneously.· Self-motivated and have a strong desire to pursue and disseminate knowledge.Desired Qualifications:1. Ph.D. degree of relevant field(s) of studies.2. Prior program review writing and knowledge.3.
