Blavity Inc. is looking for a dynamic Social Producer to develop content focused on key areas like cybersecurity, tech policy, venture capital, political influence, climate change, disinformation, and regulation. You'll create engaging vertical video content, working closely with our Editorial and Digital Marketing teams. If you excel in video editing and copywriting and thrive in a fast-paced environment, come shape the conversation with us at Blavity Inc.!This is a W2 contract role that will report directly to the Content Producer, AfroTech.Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.Responsibilities:Partner with AfroTech’s Content and Marketing teams on vertical video strategy, creation, and distribution.Own end-to-end production of social-first vertical video content, including conceptualizing, shooting, editing, and publishing timely videos to AfroTech’s TikTok and Instagram channels.Create and publish a minimum of 4 videos weekly, focused on current events and/or relevant content pillars.Respond to and engage with community members on assigned social media posts, ensuring all interactions reflect the brand’s voice and values.Qualifications:Required Experience:

2+ yrs of content creation production experience.Strong knowledge of video editing for social platforms.Experience with analytics and listening tools.A demonstrated ability to write engaging social media copy for a variety of audiences across a range of topics.An online portfolio demonstrating the required experience above.

Preferred Experience:

Strong knowledge of design elements and principles.2+ yrs of content development for Gen Z and Millennial demographics.Strong knowledge of pop culture and topics including but not limited to tech news and policy, political influence (e.g. 2024 Presidential Election), trending social topics, and more.

Technologies:

Fluent in TikTok, InShot or Capcut, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite.Additional Qualifications:

A strong interest in viral marketing and social media trends.Knowledge of, passion for, and experience with established and emerging social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility.The ability to articulate project needs and timelines clearly and effectively.High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats.Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings.A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture.

Details:This is a fully remote, U.S.-based role.
