The Content Academies Director provides leadership and guidance to implement the strategic plan for Texas Reading and Mathematics Achievement Academies. Reading and Mathematics Achievement Academies will increase teacher knowledge and implementation of evidence-based practices to positively impact student achievement in literacy and mathematics. These initiatives are key components of TEA’s Strategic Plan and a part of the agency’s broader efforts to build a foundation of reading and math for all students. All kindergarten through third-grade teachers and principals must attend a HB3 Reading Academy, while Mathematics Achievement Academies are currently offered as optional trainings for kindergarten through fourth-grade teachers.This position will work towards ambitious goals regarding reading and math instruction and implementation and will lead a team of 4-6 staff members who will contribute to the development of content and resources included in Texas Reading Academies and Mathematics Achievement Academies programs. This individual will ensure the creation and implementation of high-quality training and resources programs for Authorized Providers, Cohort Leaders, Educator Preparation Programs, teachers, and other critical stakeholders. The Director coordinates the development and implementation of projects and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.This position will also require extensive collaboration, alignment, and integration with other TEA initiatives related to curriculum and instruction, such as Open Education Resources (OER), Strong Foundations Implementation (SFI), Texas Lesson Study (TXLS), and Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL).Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.Please note that a resume, tailored cover letter, and short answer responses are required attachments for applying to this position. Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan for Texas Reading Academies and Mathematics Achievement Academies, using data to make ongoing adjustments to ensure the achievement of rigorous goals and a highly impactful learning experience for Texas educators.Team Management and Supervision:

Lead and coach team members to drive progress in building a statewide foundation in reading and math through project management and stakeholder engagement.Stakeholder Engagement:

Effectively engage internal and external stakeholders – including education service centers and other authorized providers and their cohort leaders, teachers, advisory committees, Educator Preparation Programs, Texas families and campus/district administrators, academies facilitators, and curriculum coordinators – to support high-quality implementation of Texas Reading Academies and Mathematics Achievement Academies.Progress Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:

Develop and implement effective techniques for evaluating programs by analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to constantly improve the efficacy of Texas Reading Academies and Mathematics Achievement Academies; provides guidance to staff in the development and integration of new methods and procedures.Cross Agency Alignment:

Collaborate with leaders across other TEA offices, departments, and divisions to ensure that districts are provided the best possible services and supports as it relates to aligning and integrating related agency initiatives.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications• Education:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university• Experience:

At least five (5) years of experience in education, project management, operations, or related field with a passion for public education.• Substitutions:
