You will play a key role in helping reach, engage and inspire new volunteers and donors to join our mission, and support our agency’s strategic goals of ensuring youth (Littles) have greater access to diverse mentors (Bigs) and opportunities that amplify their potential.

The ideal candidate will have a fearless approach to innovation and creativity, as well as a keen eye for details and design aesthetics. This role requires an individual that can proactively manage multiple time-sensitive and competing priorities, and has the ability to cultivate multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Job DetailsLocation: Hybrid (Flexibility to be in office Tuesdays & Thursdays, and work from home other days)

Hiring Salary Range: $58,000-$66,000 Starting salary will depend on your skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.

Hours/Day: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week – including evenings and weekends once or twice a month.

Essential Job FunctionsContent & Creative Marketing Management

In collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications and Senior Marketing & Communications Coordinator, execute the agency’s marketing and communications plan by creating, designing, distributing and managing content targeted for key audiences through a variety of channels (i.e. website, email, social media) and campaigns (i.e. fundraising, recruitment, agency events).

Co-develop brand personas and relevant messages for key audience segments that help attract and motivate high-demand volunteers and donors in the five-county Twin Cities metro area.

Lead graphic designing with fun, creative and innovative approaches to content marketing. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to design and produce engaging, visual content (i.e. web pages, stories, graphics, flyers) that aligns with branding guidelines and effectively communicates key messages to diverse target audiences. Manage and maintain content and creative tasks, projects, libraries, inventory and archives.

Plan, review and support the distribution of marketing content through bigstwincities.org, social media posts, direct mail, e-newsletters and email campaigns to nurture and engage our community of audiences.

Co-manage online communities through social media, direct messages, reviews and emails (i.e Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, ThinkBig inbox, Google Reviews, Facebook Group for Bigs).

Work in collaboration with our website vendor to help maintain bigstwincities.org (i.e. critical updates, enhancements, renewals, etc.), increase accessibility in website content and navigation, and create new and innovative approaches that bring match stories and moments to life.

General Marketing & Communications Support

Attend and support BBBS events as appropriate to gather content, creative assets (photos and videos) and information that can be shared via newsletters, blog posts, social media, etc.

Support overall data analysis and impact of Marketing & Communications by tracking progress, trends and insights that help us get closer to our strategic and mission-aligned goals.

Help manage print orders, invoices, and vendor relationships, and take part in understanding financials to utilize and optimize our budget.

Assist the organization and staff with internal marketing and communications support, particularly around JEDI, BBBS values, and workplace culture, as needed.

Other opportunities and duties as assigned, or as requested for personal and career development.

Represent BBBS well in the broader community.

Assist in agency-wide events and initiatives including recruitment, fundraising, event management, and community outreach.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field, OR at least 4 years of related experience

Required 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, website marketing, graphic designing, nonprofit marketing and communications, and/or a related field.

Nonprofit experience preferred, not required.

Demonstrated experience in leading, planning, designing, implementing and managing impactful content, creatives and campaigns for marketing and communications plans.

Experienced storyteller, copywriter, graphic designing, videography and photography. Website, social media and email management is highly preferred.

Proficiency in Spanish is valued. BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Demonstrated ability to lead accessible and effective communication to diverse audiences with deep commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI).

Strong communication, creative, tech-savvy, tactical, strategic, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience with successful execution of content marketing plans, creative strategies, and marketing and communications campaigns, projects and tasks.

Experience planning and leading tasks and projects independently and collaboratively; flexibility managing and prioritizing effectively in order to meet established goals and adapt to changing priorities or new opportunities.

Proficiency with Google, Asana, Canva, Wordpress or similar, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Zoho, Constant Contact, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn. Adobe experience valued.

Experience working inclusively with diverse teams and individuals to build belonging.

Have a valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities; local travel is required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including nights and weekends for events.

Physical RequirementsThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines and filing cabinets. This role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

About BBBSTCBig Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities is the largest and oldest youth mentoring organization in the greater Twin Cities serving Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and parts of Dakota and Washington counties. Each year, we match up to 2,600 youth (Littles) and their families with caring adults (Bigs) who volunteer as youth mentors.
