The Social Media & Multimedia Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Athletics for External Relations and is responsible for managing multimedia initiatives and social media strategy for the Department of Athletics. The individual in this role will create unique video and photography content to support marketing, promotion, and storytelling efforts for 19 Division III men's and women's intercollegiate athletic programs. The Social Media & Multimedia Coordinator must understand and promote the mission, goals, and values and educational ideals of Brandeis University, as well as the mission of the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation.

The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.Job DescriptionCreates and implements a strategic social media plan for the official Brandeis Judges Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts, with an emphasis on Instagram. Creates a monthly content calendar, constantly monitors accounts, engages with followers, tracks current industry trends, and collaborates with coaches and student-athletes on content creation-based initiatives (30%)

Solely shoots, edits, and publishes highlight videos, interviews, promotional campaign videos, behind-the-scenes features, and other unique video content using Adobe Creative Cloud to post on the department website and Brandeis Judges Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Manages outreach to student-athletes and coaches to facilitate interview schedules (25%)

Utilizes Adobe Photoshop or other related programs to edit photographs and create branded graphics to support social media initiatives (25%)

Assists with the setup and breakdown of live streaming and broadcasting equipment to successfully live broadcast all home varsity athletic events (10%)

Assists with photography initiatives, including shooting home competitions, special events, and assisting with individual team media day photography sessions (5%)

Attends on-campus and nearby athletic competitions and department special events to assist with other duties as assigned. (5%)

Additional Job DescriptionEducation: B.A./B.S. required

Work Experience: Minimum of one-year related experience

Skills: Basic video editing and graphic design skills utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud programs. Experience using a camcorder and DSLR camera is strongly preferred.

Availability: Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Hours / Schedule10-month position (mid-August – mid-May)

Average of 14 hours per week
